Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs, Miles Kristan

It appears that Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs is taking orders from anti-Scott Walker protesters.

In an exchange with the crazed radical Miles Kristan, it seems clear to me that Tubbs doesn't use his authority appropriately.

From the MacIver Institute:

Is Wisconsin Capitol Police Chief Tubbs Working/Plotting with Anti-Walker Protesters?

Video:

What an embarrassment!

Actually, it's worse than embarrassing. Tubbs reveals himself to be doing the bidding of the Walker protesters.

Rather than properly kicking their butts out of the rotunda so scheduled weddings could take place, he begs Kristan and his band of protesters, the University of Wisconsin Teaching Assistants' Association, to leave.

The group did not have a permit even though the rally was promoted online for a week.

Tubbs admits that six weddings were scheduled at the Capitol. The parties did have permits.

CHIEF TUBBS: There's six weddings scheduled here today we have to honor, they have permits for. They get priority.

Even though the protest rally had no permit, Tubbs did not give the weddings priority.

Why didn't he clear out the protesters to allow them to go on as scheduled? What is that?!?

He tries to get the beer-tossing, online threat-making Kristan to cooperate.

Kristan argues with Tubbs about what appears to be their previous agreement, refusing to leave.

Tubbs acts as if he's powerless. Kristan acts as if he's in charge.

What a disgrace!

The Capitol police chief doesn't use his authority. He doesn't maintain order.

He just complains to the protesters!

TUBBS: They promised everybody would be out of here and cooperate with us. See, this is where we run into problems.

WHAT?

The protesters didn't have a permit to occupy the rotunda. People did have permits for weddings.

There should be no problem at all.

It's clear the protesters are in violation.

Tubbs should not be cutting any sort of deals with protesters.

Is he getting paid to "cooperate" with them?

Does he just want to support them out of the goodness of his heart?

In any event, Tubbs looks like a fool.

_____________

Once again, MacIver gets the story.
