Obama Mandate: 'MY Will Be Done'

GEORGE WILL: Three points - As Paul Ryan said, this is an accounting gimmick that they've done that in no way ends the complicity of Catholic institutions and individuals in delivering the services that they consider morally abhorrent.

Second, you asked the question, 'How did this come about?' George, this is what liberalism looks like. This is what the progressive state does. It tries to break all the institutions of civil society, all the institutions that mediate between the individual and the state, they have to break them to the saddle of the state.

Third, the Catholic bishops, it serves them right. They're the ones who were really hot for ObamaCare, with a few exceptions, but they were all in favor of this. And this is what it looks like when the government decides it's going to make your health care choices for you.

I understand Will's feeling about the Catholic bishops being on board with ObamaCare. They failed to see this coming. They were duped. As a Catholic, it bothered me that they supported Obama's health care revolution. It was so naive on their part to not realize the consequences for the Church and for the individual.

I agree with Will when he says "this is what liberalism looks like, this is what the progressive state does." He's right.

Obama simply issues an edict that insurance companies will give certain services to the masses "for free."

Sure.

Obama declares, "My will be done."

While he's at it, I think there should be more raisins in my cereal. I think Obama should go to his little podium right now and tell Kellogg's that "two scoops" are inadequate and an attack on my health. He should tell Kellogg's to give the people THREE scoops, for free.

I also think Obama should proclaim that people should not have to pay for onions as a topping on pizza. Onions, for free! Obama should step in and insist that Pizza Hut quit being so skimpy with the mushrooms. More mushrooms, for free!

Obama's government can and, obviously, will tell private institutions and individuals what to do.

Where does this power come from?

Where does Obama get the right to wield power in such a cavalier, harsh, arrogant, and heavy-handed fashion?

Is this America?
