Ryan Braun Sample, Refrigerator, FedEx

This is really weird.

I love Ryan Braun, but I wouldn't keep his urine in my refrigerator.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

The Journal Sentinel has confirmed that MLB officials are upset because arbitrator Shyam Das did not rule in Braun's favor because he decided the positive test was wrong. He ruled in Braun's favor in essence because of a chain of custody dispute.

Apparently, and I see ESPN is reporting this, too, the official who collected the sample did not get it to FedEx in time to ship it in the prescribed manor to the MLB testing lab in Montreal. Instead, he took it home, put it in a refrigerator and sent it out the next day.

Apparently, Das ruled that the specimen should have been left at FedEx anyway. So, it all comes down to chain of custody and the proper delivery of the urine sample.

So, in essence, it was a tecnnicality that helped Braun get exonerated. But the result is still the one he and the Brewers wanted.

This still doesn't explain Braun's off the charts testosterone level.

The "custody" issue doesn't address that.

This is lame. A lot of questions remain unanswered.

Is it possible that MLB and Braun are caught up in a struggle that involves privacy violations?

I think Braun has a strong case against MLB. He should pursue that. Vehemently.
