UPDATE, March 28, 2012: Mark Belling reports that Lynn Kristensen signed last year's recall petition against Alberta Darling.

She signed her name EXACTLY the same way on the Darling petition as she did on the Scott Walker petition.

Kristensen inverted the "r" and the "i," and she dropped the final "n" in her last name, just as she did on the Walker recall petition.

It's impossible for Kristensen to claim that it was an error.

Does the woman only misspell her name on recall petitions?

Of course not. Kristensen became "Kirstense" intentionally for the purpose of hiding her identity.

What a cowardly move!

UPDATE, March 28, 2012: Hamilton Board Member Denies Purposely Misspelling Her Name on Recall Petition

I don't buy Lynn Kristensen's explanation, especially after the discovery that she misspelled her name the same way on the recall petition against Alberta Darling in 2011.

Lightning striking twice?

No way.

UPDATE, March 27, 2012: Sussex Officials Explain Why They Signed Walker Recall Petitions

Hamilton School Board member Lynn Kristensen

Signed Dec. 2
"I believe signing a petition is a private issue and that every individual should be able to exercise their full constitutional rights in the democratic process. I don't think any person should be forced to reveal their constitutional choices. What I regret is the state of divisiveness, disrespect and intolerance of opposing views that exists in Wisconsin today.

"What happened to our right to privacy? What happened to the ability to have open dialogues without fear of hatred resulting from them? What happened to not only tolerating, but actually being able to appreciate, differing viewpoints? Those are the things that make us Americans and differentiate us from many other countries around the world. The toxic nature of the public forum in our state right now deeply saddens me."

Kristensen obviously doesn't understand that she signed a PUBLIC document. There was absolutely no expectation of privacy.

She went on the record when she signed the petition.

"Lynn Kirtense," you're no victim.

Lynn Kristensen, Hamilton School District Board member since 2006, misspelled her name on the recall petition against Governor Scott Walker.

No big deal?

It's a big deal.

Mark Belling discussed the story on his radio program Monday afternoon. One of his listeners, a constituent of Kristensen, discovered her name on the Walker recall petition.

The constituent called her to ask if she signed it, informing her that the name was spelled incorrectly, but the address was correct.

She feigned shock and told him she did not sign the petition. Kristensen went on to discuss the good things that have come from the enactment of Act 10.

A day later, Kristensen contacted the constituent and retracted her previous statement about NOT signing the recall petition.

In short, she flat-out lied. She did sign it.

View the petition:

How could she print her name incorrectly?

This isn't like a signature being illegible.

It's reasonable to conclude Kristensen intentionally misspelled her name so it couldn't be discovered via a searchable database.

She must have thought she was safe to lie about her behavior and deny signing the petition. So, she did.

Then, she had second thoughts about her conversation with the constituent. Someone may have advised her to come clean. She changed her story.

Kristensen is up for reelection in April.

She gives her position on Act 10, from Sussex Patch:

How do you feel about Act 10 and how it affects Hamilton School District?

That Hamilton School District has always been fiscally responsible. We have already been able to implement changes that have cut costs, such as moving our employees' retirement benefits from defined-benefit to defined contribution, which saved us over $30,000,000. Provisions in Act 10 made that move possible. However, I feel that we won't truly be able to evaluate all of the effects of Act 10 until a good deal of time has passed. We can't know yet what impact it will have on our ability to attract and retain the highest quality staff, which I feel is critical to our continued success. I want Hamilton to be a school district where all parties feel valued - students, staff, community and taxpayers.

Kristensen certainly isn't stating that Scott Walker should be booted out of office.

She expresses the benefits to the district as a result of Act 10.

Why isn't she honest about wanting Walker recalled? Something to hide?

Her answer to following question is funny:

What sets you apart from the other candidate?

I run with no hidden agenda.

Kristensen claims she runs with "NO HIDDEN AGENDA."

Oh, no?

What a joke!

She hides the fact that she wants Walker removed from office. She lies to her constituent when directly confronted about the recall petition.

I think Kristensen (aka "Kirstense") definitely has a hidden agenda, except she didn't hide it very well.

Oh my god she misspelled her name? Oh no way sister! Is it that big of a deal? I mean you probably have nothing better to do than attack someone virtually. What an embarrassment. If anything you should be the one ashamed. Why don't you put your last name identifying that you were the one that created the document, huh Mary? Are you the one trying to hide your identity?
