Tom Barrett for Governor

Tom Barrett, political genius, announced very late on Friday afternoon that he will be challenging Kathleen Falk for the Democrat nomination in the recall election of Scott Walker.

The weekend has begun. People are disengaged, and Barrett announces his candidacy. Is he trying to hide something? It's as if he doesn't want people to notice.

I can understand why.

Tom Barrett, current mayor of Milwaukee, has been a disaster. On his watch, the city has deteriorated. I've seen it.

Now, one more time, Barrett wants to take a stab at being the governor of Wisconsin, doing for the state what he's done to Milwaukee.

From WISN:

Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has entered the race to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker, setting up a potential rematch of the 2010 election.

Barrett announced his decision Friday, the same day as the Government Accountability Board ordered the recall election.

He announced just four days before he stands for re-election Tuesday as Milwaukee mayor. He faces little opposition in that race.

Barrett's entrance into the Walker recall race shakes up the Democratic field, which had been dominated by Kathleen Falk, the former longtime Dane County executive who had obtained every major endorsement and the backing of unions representing teachers and public workers.

Democratic state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout and Secretary of State Doug La Follette are also running.

Union leaders tried to talk Barrett out of running.

So, will the unions pour money into the primary race to support Falk?

Will Barrett be attacked by the radical Leftists as they promote Falk, radical Leftist?

Is Barrett ready and able to take on Big Labor? The White House?

I might vote for Barrett in the primary on May 8th. I think he'd make a great candidate to run against Scott Walker.
