Moody's Downgrades Milwaukee

Another sign of Milwaukee's downward spiral--

Moody's Investors Service has slightly downgraded Milwaukee's bond rating, citing concerns about the city's poverty rate and long-term economic impact.

The ratings agency dropped the city from Aa1, with a negative outlook, to Aa2, with a stable outlook. That matches the city's AA rating, with a stable outlook, from Standard & Poor's, which did not change its rating, Deputy Comptroller Mike Daun said Monday.

As a result, the Moody's downgrade is not expected to have any significant impact on the interest rates that the city pays on its bonds, Daun said.

Note that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel doesn't mention Mayor Tom Barrett, wannabe Democrat candidate for governor.

Typical.

Moody's downgrades Milwaukee's bond rating, but no comment from Barrett, guy who wants to be the chief executive of Wisconsin?

Blame Barrett for failing to improve Milwaukee.

He should be held accountable for his War on Milwaukee. The downgrade, though slight, is another indicator of Barrett's incompetence.
