Obama: 'Polish Death Camp'

The brilliant Obama is not so brilliant.

He's cold. Not cool, COLD.

The guy makes plenty of gaffes, but the Leftist media don't highlight them. Comedians on the late night shows and Saturday Night Live and other programs showcasing topical humor give Obama a pass on his often downright stupidity.

Here's an example of Obama being stupid:

Obama Insults Poles with Mention of ‘Polish Death Camp’

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian honor a president can bestow, so there is little doubt that President Barack Obama did not intend to insult the home country of one of the honorees. But insult he did when he spoke of honoree Jan Karski, a hero of the Polish resistance against Nazi occupiers in World War II.

He referred to Mr. Karski’s smuggling into a “Polish death camp” to see for himself that Jews were being murdered “on a massive scale.” The camps were run by the Nazis, and the Poles take great issue with statements that appear to blame them for Nazi crimes.

Within hours, Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski posted a message on Twitter declaring that the White House “will apologize” for the “outrageous” statement, and promising that Prime Minister Donald Tusk will make a statement about it in the morning. He also said that it was a shame that the “important ceremony” had been overshadowed by “ignorance and incompetence.”

...White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said that the president misspoke. “He was referring to Nazi death camps in Poland. We regret this misstatement, which should not detract from the clear intention to honor Mr. Karski and those brave citizens who stood on the side of human dignity in the face of tyranny,” he said in a statement.

...Mr. Obama’s full comments about Mr. Karski:

“For years, Jan Karski’s students at Georgetown University knew he was a great professor; what they didn’t realize was he was also a hero. Fluent in four languages, possessed of a photographic memory, Jan served as a courier for the Polish resistance during the darkest days of World War II. Before one trip across enemy lines, resistance fighters told him that Jews were being murdered on a massive scale, and smuggled him into the Warsaw Ghetto and a Polish death camp to see for himself. Jan took that information to President Franklin Roosevelt, giving one of the first accounts of the Holocaust and imploring to the world to take action. It was decades before Jan was ready to tell his story. By then, he said, `I don’t need courage anymore. So I teach compassion.’”

The White House transcript of Obama's remarks has been "cleaned up."
A witness to atrocity in the Warsaw Ghetto and the Nazi Izbica transit camp, he repeatedly crossed enemy line to document the face of genocide, and courageously voiced tragic truths all the way to President Roosevelt.

There is nothing on the White House site to indicate that the transcript was altered.

That's slimy.

The Obama administration likes to rewrite reality, doesn't it?

What's inexcusable about the "Polish death camp" remark is that Obama was reading prepared statements.

It's wrong to say Obama "misspoke." His script was written in a manner that insults Poles.

I assume Obama reads through his prepared lines before he delivers them. Why didn't he catch the obvious mistake?

Bottom line: Obama and his White House are insensitive and sloppy. It was inexcusable for the president of the United States to speak of a "Polish death camp."

Good grief.

This was Obama, not Biden.
