Tom Barrett - Crime

Tom Barrett says that he made public safety in the city a priority during his tenure as mayor of Milwaukee.

Barrett's record is a problem. He has failed the people of Milwaukee when it comes to public safety.

Violent crime has risen. Crimes were misreported, according to an investigation by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Areas of the city continue to decay and decline.

Is it Barrett's fault that hundreds of beatings, stabbings, and child abuses cases weren't reported as violent crimes to federal authorities?

Barrett didn't personally misreport the assaults.

However, the buck stops with him.

He has to take responsibility. Barrett bragged about violent crime in Milwaukee going down. He considered that his accomplishment.

Barrett set that standard. Now that we know the crime statistics created a false picture, it's right to hold Barrett accountable.

This is about leadership, character, and results.

Barrett fails on all counts.
