Jordyn Wieber Out of All-Around

Jordyn Wieber is out of the all-around competition in women's gymnastics at the Olympics because of a lame rule.

Defending World Champion Jordyn Wieber is out of the all-around Olympic competition.

Because of a two-per country rule, each team can only advance two athletes to the All-Around competition. Teammates Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas both outscored Wieber, thereby advancing to the All-Around final.

The "two-per country rule" isn't fair.

Jordyn Wieber is being penalized for having talented teammates.

For the all-around competition, 24 gymnasts advance.

From the New York Times:

The top 24 competitors overall advance to the individual all-around.

Wrong.

Three Americans were among the top four. Because of the rule, Wieber is out.

Twenty-one gymnasts who scored lower than Wieber will be participating in the all-around.

That's a terrible rule.

Aren't the Olympics about excellence in sports?

This "two-per country rule" is nuts.

The best should advance. That's not what's happening here.

I really feel sorry for Jordyn Wieber. She has to sit out the all-around competition because she's an American.

It's not fair. She finished fourth, but she's eliminated. A slew of other gymnasts turning in lesser Olympic performances get to participate.

Obviously, the all-around competition does not include the world's best.

The top 24 should participate. The top Olympic athletes should make it. Period.

The "two-per country rule" runs counter to the Olympic ideal.

It seems Wieber is a victim of an unfair effort to spread the alleged glory around.

I don't see much glory in "two-per country."

The L.A. Times article “Gymnast Alexandra Raisman knocks Jordyn Wieber from all-around” made a big lie reporting that Jordyn Weiber took "a big step off the floor exercise mat" while saying that Gabrielle Douglas "also went out of bounds on her floor exercise" in order to justify why world's All-Around gymnastics champion Jordyn Weiber was knocked off the All-Round gymnast final.

The fact is that not only Gabrielle Douglas STUMBLED OFF THE FLOOR EXERCISE MAT COMPLETELY, she also TOOK STEPS OUTSIDE THE MAT, both major mistakes, but Jordyn Weiber only went a little out of bound. If you say the opposite is true after watching the competition, you are just a big liar.

The rule that "no more than two members per team can qualify for All-Round gymnast final" is just absurd. Why should gymnasts of much lower scores from other countries be qualified for all-round final when an All-Around gymnastics champion with much higher score is not allowed to compete for that title? It a travesty. IF THIS RULE OF TWO PER TEAM TO THE FINAL IS SO FAIR THEN WHY SIMILAR RULE IS NOT APPLIED TO ALL OLYMPIC EVENTS? The fact is that this rule is unfair but it's applied this year in the All-Round gymnast qualifying match for a particular reason.

I think there is a conspiracy to push Gabrielle Douglas to the top of the podium of All-Round gymnast champion when she only excels on uneven bars but is inconsistent in the other events just because she's black and the absurd new rule is applied with biased scoring against the reigning ALL-Round champion so as to prevent her from competing with Gabrielle Douglas for the All-Round title.

You may argue that there is no conspiracy but you cannot deny the fact that the L A Times article had to resort to lying in order to justify why the All-Around gymnastics champion Jordyn Weiber got disqualified for the All-Round final. That is a hint that something unfair is going on.

I’m so sick of racial politics poisoning the Olympic Games.

Jordyn Wieber did take just a little step out. The LA Times distorted what happened. Shoddy reporting.

One needs only to look at the scores. Jordyn scored much higher than Gabby on the floor exercise.

Jordyn qualified to compete for gold on that apparatus.

I don't believe there's any racial conspiracy.

There is a very stupid "two person per country" rule for the all-around.

@Mary
It's not just shoddy reporting by the LA Times. Shoddy implies that the false reporting was unintentional but the discrepancy was too obvious to be unintentional. Brushing it off as shoddy reporting is just a lame excuse for the LA Times for its racist reporting trick which is as despicable as MSNBC editing George Zimmerman’s the 911 call in way that made Zimmerman appeared to be racist against blacks when the unedited 911 call showed that Zimmerman only mentioned the race of Trayvon Martin when asked by the police.

I think it was intentional lowering of Jordyn’s scores slightly on every exercise in that event by at least some of the judges that pushed Jordyn out of the All-Round final so as eliminate Gabby’s number one opponent from the All-Round final. As a matter of fact, one of the commentators did mention that the scores received by Jordyn in other exercises appear to be lower than what she deserved after the shocking announcement that she was not qualified for the All-Round final.

Anyone who thinks that the judges in the gymnastics events at the Olympics held in London are completely fair and non-racist are just ignorant. In the man’s team final the judges did score one of the Japanese member’s performance lower than what he really deserved, thus helping the British team, the team of the host country, to secure sliver instead of bronze. It was not until the Japanese team leader filed a formal complaint that the true and correct higher score was given to the Japanese team and the Japanese got silver instead of bronze.

If you think racism has nothing to do with the Japanese team member given a lower score than that he deserved, you are probably one of the fools who think that racism was not involved in the reigning All-Round Gymnastics World Champion Jordyn being pushed out of the All-Round Olympic final to be replaced by an average performer Alexandra Raisman under an absurd new rule as Gabby’s number one opponent.

The performance of Gabby’s floor exercise in the team championship was good but not great and she received a score of 15.066. Jordyn’s floor exercise in the same event was great and noticeably better than Gabby’s. I was expecting her score to be slightly higher than Gabby’s, yet the biased judges gave Jordyn a score of 15.000 only.

Even though Jordyn qualifies to compete for gold on floor exercise, her lifetime dream of getting Olympic gold for All-Round Gymnastics has been broken due to the unfair rule and the racially biased judges.. With the biased judges of the London Olympics in control, I really worry about Jordyn’s chance to win gold for the floor exercise. Unlike the Japanese complaining against the unfair scoring, I don’t think the US team will complain at all when Jordyn is given a lower score than she really deserves in the floor exercise by those biased judges as long as that would mean Gabby would receive gold.

I’m so sick of the F.I.G. officials who made the unjust “two person per country rule” for gymnastics All-Round final and those biased gymnastics judges. They are like corrupt politicians who have the power to manipulate the law for their devious agendas.

First, "shoddy" journalism does not imply unintentional at all. Read the definitions of shoddy.

Second, I do not think the judges are racially biased per se. Subjective judging always has its inconsistencies and biases. Controversy is sure to accompany scores. That's not going to change.

I'm a bit confused by your racial bias theory. You believe Gabby, an African American, was given higher scores than she deserved. Her teammate Kyla Ross is of mixed racial background, part black. Why didn't she get higher scores?

I think the judges were tougher on Jordyn, the reigning world champion. That's not fair, but they obviously judged her positively enough in the past to declare her the best woman gymnast in the world. I don't think race is the issue.

LA Time's LYING about Jordyn took "a big step" off the mat when it was Gabby who did so is not the same as SHODDY REPORTING.

The fact that Jordyn scored much higher than Gabby on the floor exercise in the qualifying match for All-Round final is no excuse for LA Times' lying about what happened.

Jordyn qualified to compete for gold on exercise mat does not mean her being unjustifiably excluded from competing for All-Round gold is acceptable.

The fact that the judges gave a lower score than what a Japanese gymnast really deserved in the men's team final thus giving the silver to the British team instead of the Japanese team and had to reverse their decision after the Japanese team filed a complaint against it is proof that the judges for gymnastics in London are capable of manipulating the scores with a racist motive.

The fact that Jordyn got a score of only 15.000 but Gabby got a score of 15.066 when Jordyn's floor exercise in the team final was clearly way better than Gabby's is another proof that those judges are biased.

The two person per country rule for the All-Round final is "affirmative" action on a global scale. Racial politics has poisoned the Olympics.

I guess shoddy reporting is just a less brunt way for you to say that the LA Times lied.

The fact that Jordyn scored much higher than Gabby on the floor exercise in the qualifying match for All-Round final is no excuse for LA Times' lying about what happened.

If you think that the unjustified low score received by the Japanese with the British being the beneficiary was due to subjective judging or bias of non-racist nature you are just self-deceiving.

Kyla Ross doesn't look black. I think the racist judges want to create a black gymnastics all-round Olympic champion even at the cost to knocking down a white reigning gymnastics all-round world champion by unfair "affirmative" action rule and score manipulation.

The fact that Jordyn got a score of only 15.000 but Gabby got a score of 15.066 when Jordyn's floor exercise in the team final was clearly way better than Gabby's is another proof that those judges are biased.

Ali was given an unbelievable high score of 15.325 for her floor exercise in the all-round qualifying match in spite of her performance being solid but unimpressive. On the other hand Jordyn's strong and impressive exercise in the team final was given a score of 15.000 only.

I did not doubt for a second that those biased judges with a racist agenda had estimated how high Ali’s floor exercise score needed to be in order to knock Jordyn, Gabby's strongest rival, out of the all-round championship and apparently they had no qualm in exercising their power way over the top in order to achieve that devious goal.

Apparently, the International Gymnastics Federation is rotten with political and racist agenda just like the Miss Universe Organization. However, it is a consolation that the International Gymnastics Federation did not allow any male transgender person to compete against real females as the Miss Universe Organization did just because a male contestant had his male genital removed and had an artificial vagina created out of surgery while dressing like a girl.

Well, with the black racists and the freaky liberals in control who can say for sure that is not going to happen as well in the Olympics? The IAAF’s decision to allow the black hermaphrodite Caster Semenya to bully real female athletes by allowing him/her to compete in women’s race was the first step towards that wrong direction.

Correction: All-Around

Come on! The judges are obviously biased against Viktoria Komova. Her floor exercise in All-Around final was absolutely perfect and beautiful. ALL her landings were steady stuck landings, something like a hole in one, yet the judges gave her only 15.101 comparing to Aly Raisman’s high score of 15.325 for her mediocre floor exercise in AA qualifying round that knocked Jordyn Weiber out of AA final.

The only explanation for Aly’s unbelievable high score given by the commentator was that, unlike her teammates, she did not go out of bounds. Neither did Viktoria go out of bounds and she did a fantastic job on the floor mat at AA final, yet the judges gave her a much lower score than that received by Aly in the qualifying round for no good reason.

Obviously, the “affirmative” action rule of two persons per country for AA final and manipulation of scores by the judges work very well together to get what some people in power want to see.
