Egypt, Libya: Chuck Todd, Matt Lauer, Mitt Romney

I had the misfortune of falling asleep with the TV on and waking to Matt Lauer on Today.

It was just after 7:00 AM CT that I learned one of the Americans killed in Libya was Ambassador Chris Stevens.

I was horrified at the news.

Still stunned, Matt Lauer and Chuck Todd begin launching an assault on Mitt Romney.

Here's video and the transcript, from NewsBusters:

On Wednesday's NBC Today, Todd parroted White House talking points attacking Romney:
Well, the Obama campaign quickly fired back, saying it was, quote, 'shocked,' that following the deadly protests, quote, 'Governor Romney would choose to launch a political attack'....officials here are just stunned that the Romney campaign wouldn't even wait til' daybreak before pouncing on this story, considering we didn't have confirmations of the death of the Ambassador and others.

I am sick of hearing the liberal media, Obama mouthpieces, saying that Romney "pounces."

They said Romney "pounced" on the bad economic news.

They said Romney "pounced" on the violence in Cairo.

Obviously, their approach is to condemn Romney for commenting on Obama's failures, for politicizing bad news.

Are you kidding me?

Ronald Reagan didn't refrain from criticizing Jimmy Carter for his foreign and domestic messes. I certainly don't think he should have stood silent.

Likewise, Mitt Romney should speak up.

The liberal media hacks at MSNBC/NBC and the good soldier Democrats are doing what Obama expects them to do.

That doesn't make it right.

They're bitching about Romney exercising his free speech while accepting the "free speech" expressions of deadly mobs in the Middle East?

Ridiculous.

I keep thinking about that 3:00am call at the White House.
I don't want it to be Mr. Romney who answers.
