SNL: VP Debate (Video)

Saturday Night Live opened with the vice presidential debate. No surprise there.

Here's video.

Joe Biden, played by Jason Sudeikis, was a dope, but he wasn't mocked for the blatant lies he told during the debate.

Paul Ryan, played by Taran Killam, was depicted as the liar. SNL even brought in Usain Bolt, the real Usain Bolt, to hit Ryan about his marathon time gaffe. In the sketch, Ryan also claimed he won the 100-meter race at the London Olympics. Bolt, of course, set the record straight.

It was so odd, because if anyone exaggerates, makes stuff up, and is a blowhard, it's Biden.

On the split screen, Ryan was shown guzzling water, lots of it.

Kate McKinnon played debate moderator Martha Raddatz. No effort was made to illustrate the way Raddatz interrupted Ryan and prevented him from answering questions. She wasn't shown tolerating Biden's boorishness.

One line that really bugged me:

MARTHA RADDATZ (Kate McKinnon): Congressman Ryan, I've just been told America's small children would like you to stop looking directly into the lens. Apparently, they find it upsetting.
Ryan scaring children???

That's just bizarre.

At the end, Biden got up from his chair and smudged off Ryan's widow's peak with some spit on his thumb, saying "that thing's been driving me crazy."

There has been a real effort to attack Paul Ryan's appearance recently. It's a weird bullying from the Left.

Not funny.
