Obama Snubs Paris Rally

Once again, Obama and his administration screw up on the world stage.

Once again, Obama is "leading from behind."

From Reuters:
The absence of President Barack Obama or any top members of his administration from a huge march in Paris on Sunday to honor victims of Islamist militant attacks raised eyebrows among some in the U.S. media.

French President Francois Hollande and some 44 foreign dignitaries, including leaders from Germany, Italy, Britain, Turkey, Israel and the Palestinian territories, headed more than a million people in what commentators said was the largest crowd in Paris since its liberation from Nazi Germany in 1944.

...The United States was represented at Sunday's march by its ambassador to France, Jane Hartley. But commentators on some U.S. media outlets questioned why Obama did not attend or send a top administration official such as Vice President Joe Biden or Secretary of State John Kerry.

...The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
It wasn't just U.S. media outlets pointing out Obama's snub.

From the U.K. Daily Mail:
America snubs historic Paris rally: Holder was there but skipped out early, Kerry was in India, Obama and Biden just stayed home

President Barack Obama and other top members of his administration have snubbed a historic rally in Paris today that brought together more than 40 world leaders from Europe, Africa, the Middle East and even Russia.

'France is our oldest ally,' Obama said during a speech Friday in Tennessee. 'I want the people of France to know that the United States stands with you today, stands with you tomorrow.'

But he wasn't standing in Paris as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas put aside their differences and linked arms.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov made the same unifying gesture in the march down the Place de la Concorde in defiance of the Islamist terror attacks that rocked the city last week.

According to an administration official, President Obama spent part of his Sunday afternoon watching a National Football League game on television. Both games were broadcast hours after the march.
At the very least, Joe Biden should have been there to join with the WORLD and participate in this historic march.

Maybe today Michelle will post something on Twitter, to convey how seriously the Obama administration takes the Islamist terror attacks in Paris.

Something like this:

I just watched the interview by Katie Couric with former President Jimmy Carter re Obama not being present at rally in Paris. The following are excerpts from that interview:

"We didn't do anything to prevent the 9/11 attacks on our country .... not because we were a bad country but because it was unanticipated."

Wow. What a scary statement by a former president of America. So basically in essence you're saying you let a lot of people die and had no way of knowing there were problems brewing? Terrorists passed into America due to shoddy procedures in place as well as other problems that were found out later.

"I think one of the origins of this problem is when people go to Syria to fight & they become dedicated to a terrorist commitment & then they come back home to the US & then they form a core of intensity & anonymosity against the society in which they live."

My question as an American: Then why the hell aren't you tracking these people w/their passports to see which countries they've gone into when they come back to America? It is clearly stamped on your passport page where someone has been, as I've traveled overseas myself. What a lame duck excuse to continue to allow Americans to be put in harm's way.

"It's going to be a learning process from 9/11."

How much longer do you need to learn, President Carter? How many more people will have to die? The 9/11 incident occurred in 2001. We are in 2015. That's a LONG time ago. That's been more than enough time to develop a strategy to prevent these attacks, especially in the US. I saw on the news about a month ago a work truck traded in by a Texas man into a car dealership ended up in Syria with the name of his work truck still painted on the side with a machine gun mounted in the bed of the truck. How the hell did this happen when America is supposed to be monitoring things being shipped out of the US? This was discovered when those responsible tweeted a photo of the truck from Syria with them standing on it with a machine gun. America has become too lax and needs to get its ducks in a row. People are dying senselessly and it MUST end.
