Considering the media went berserk last Friday absolutely obsessing about Donald Trump and the Obama birther issue, it was odd for Hillary to say this when she was a guest on The Tonight Show Monday.
HILLARY CLINTON: Your former guest, Donald Trump, has refused to actually admit that President Obama is an American, born in America. And for five years, he's been hammering in this so-called birther movement, which I think is so sickening.
Given that the episode was taped days ago, it's possible that this was a matter of timing. However, for her to be unaware of Trump's statement that Obama was born in America, the show would have had to have been taped last Wednesday, when she was still recovering from "pneumonia," or Thursday.
[NOTE: The show was taped last Friday. I missed the "widely publicized" surgical mask bit hype over the weekend. That said, there's no way Hillary didn't know about Trump's statement on Obama's place of birth, unless the taping took place very early Friday morning.]
Hillary is flat-out wrong that Trump refuses to admit Obama is an American, born in America.
She also said that Trump went after a Gold Star family "because they're Muslims."
She painted herself as someone trying to unite the country and Trump as a hateful, divisive character.
HILLARY CLINTON: We have to decide in this election what kind of country we want. You know, are we going to be a country that comes together, that respects each other, that celebrates our diversity, which I think is one of our great strengths; or are we going to be pitted against each other, and be divided, and have all this bigotry and bullying that's going on?Say what?
This coming from the "basket of deplorables" woman?
This from the woman assailing 25 percent of the country as "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it"?
How dishonest! She presents herself as respectful and wanting to unite us when she is engaging in name-calling and bullying.
About the upcoming presidential debate:
JIMMY FALLON: Speaking of pitting against each other, the debate is coming up on September 26th. We have Lester Holt moderating. Um, how, which Trump are you gonna get? Do you have any idea what-- because he seems to be changing a bit.
CLINTON: Well, look, he's trying to somehow convince people to forget everything he's said and done, you know. And I don't think he's gonna get away with that. At least judge us on who we are, what we've done, what we've stood for.
Hillary has a problem.
She, too, must be judged on who she is, what she's done, and what she's stood for.
Hillary has made a career of lying to the American people. She is steeped in corruption.
Does she really expect people to forget the truth about her?
