Never Trump: Losers

Dear Never Trump people,

You succeeded in fracturing the Republican Party, but failed at everything else you set out to do.

You pounded and pounded and pounded away at Trump, spending all your energy on trashing him and basically ignoring Hillary's shortcomings, crimes, dangerous policies, etc.

You had a mission-- to destroy Trump. The collateral damage from your crusade would be the dismantling of the GOP agenda.

School Choice? Oh, well.

Partial-birth abortion? Can't be bothered with that.

Religious freedom? That doesn't matter.

Border security? Who cares?

Higher taxes? So what?

ObamaCare? Well, so be it.

You were even willing to sacrifice the U.S. Supreme Court and the federal courts by helping Hillary win.

Thankfully, all your bluster and bombast failed. You lost. Your message didn't resonate with the American people.

To the Wisconsin Never Trump people---

It's been a long, long time since Wisconsin has voted for the Republican presidential nominee; but it happened yesterday. History was made and you didn't see it coming. You didn't prevent it. Wisconsinites chose Trump, rejecting the Washington insider, the Establishment, the status quo-- everything you fought so hard to preserve.

All your incessant mocking of Trump, and, more importantly, the "Trumpkins," backfired.

You failed at your mission.

Thank God, you failed.

Now, we have a chance. With Hillary, the candidate you aided and abetted, we were doomed to travel down the wrong path. That much was certain. I still don't get how that reality didn't bother you, but none of that matters now because you lost.

Republicans have the White House, the Senate, and the House.

The U.S. Supreme Court will not be lost for generations because you failed.

What's next for the Never Trump movement?

I hope you support the new president and are interested in unifying the country.

If you just can't bring your principled selves to do that, and I doubt you will, maybe you can seek out shocked and devastated Hillary supporters and find comfort with them, sharing your misery over the reality of President Donald J. Trump.

You can always watch MSNBC.

There is a lot of bitterness out there. It will be tough to come together.

Healing takes time.

For me, it has always been about putting America first.
