Samantha Bee and Ivanka Trump - INEXCUSABLE

Watch Samantha Bee's attack on Ivanka Trump. This wasn't a middle of the night tweet. This was her monologue, not an off-the-cuff thing. It was a carefully scripted presentation, including corresponding photos. This was timed and choreographed. It was all planned and intentional.

SAMANTHA BEE: After decades of ignoring the issue, Americans are finally paying attention. Well, most of us. Ivanka Trump, who works at the White House, chose to post the second most oblivious tweet we've seen this week. You know, Ivanka, that's a beautiful photo of you and your child. But let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad's immigration practices, you feckless c**t. He listens to you. Put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to f***ing stop it. Tell him it was an Obama thing and see how it goes. OK?
Bee was slow to apologize, but eventually did, only for the expletive. She did not apologize for suggesting Ivanka seduce her father.

"I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night," Bee said in a statement. "It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it."
TBS, the network that embraces the vileness, also issued a statement.

"Samantha Bee has taken the right action in apologizing for the vile and inappropriate language she used about Ivanka Trump last night. Those words should not have been aired. It was our mistake too, and we regret it."
Now we're all supposed to move on. Nothing to see here. Over.

Yeah, I don't think so.

I sincerely believe Bee and TBS and the Trump-hating loons did this with the intention of getting under the skin of people pointing out the bias and double standard in the media. They want to illustrate they mock us with impunity. They are flipping us off and laughing.

This was really horrible stuff. Bee's remarks were so ugly, and the studio audience adores her for it. Truly disgusting. She used a vile term to degrade Ivanka Trump and attack her father, the President of the United States.

When a woman uses that term, she degrades all women. I found Bee's choice of words terribly offensive, as an affront to half the country's population.

Roseanne Barr apologized quickly for her offensive tweet and a couple hours later ABC cancelled her show.

TBS, on the other hand, the network that chose to air Bee's inexcusable comments, put out a little "oops, sorry" statement, allowing Bee to retain her platform.

Advertisers should be running from Bee and TBS for treating women like trash.

Why do women stand for this degradation of women?

Referring to the First Daughter this way and broadcasting it is a decision that should be condemned.

All should consider the monologue Bee prepared and delivered and the network aired as abhorrent and repugnant and inconsistent with our values.
