Laurel Hubbard - New Zealand's Olympic Weightlifting Team

From Reuters:
Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard will become the first transgender athlete to compete at the Olympics after being selected by New Zealand for the women’s event at the Tokyo Games, a decision set to reignite a debate over inclusion and fairness in sport.

Hubbard will compete in the super-heavyweight 87+kg category, her selection made possible by an update to qualifying requirements in May.

The 43-year-old, who will be the oldest lifter at the Games, had competed in men's weightlifting competitions before transitioning in 2013.

"I am grateful and humbled by the kindness and support that has been given to me by so many New Zealanders," Hubbard said in a statement issued by the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) on Monday.

Laurel Hubbard is making Olympic history as the first transgender athlete to compete at the Olympics.

Hubbard participated in men's competitions before transitioning in 2013. She made New Zealand's women's team and will be the oldest lifter at the Games.

From The Independent:
Competing as Gavin Hubbard, her birth name, Hubbard set national records in junior competition and had a best, combined snatch and clean and jerk total of 300 kilograms (661 pounds).
In her long career, Hubbard didn't make it to the Olympics until now. Apparently, her best accomplishments in men's weightlifting came in junior competition.

Are there any athletes who have transitioned from female to male participating in the Olympics?

That bit of Olympic history still has to be made.
