Berkeley, which introduced the nation’s first natural gas ban, is now agreeing to repeal the law after legal defeat at the hands of the California Restaurant Association.

The CRA and the City of Berkeley reached a settlement in the case relating to the city’s 2019 ordinance banning the installation of new gas lines in buildings with Berkeley agreeing to halt enforcement of the ban and the City Council taking steps to repeal the ordinance.

“Climate change must be addressed, but piecemeal policies at the local level like bans on natural gas piping in new buildings or all-electric ordinances, which are preempted by federal energy laws, are not the answer,” said CRA president and CEO Jot Condie in a statement. “The ban was passed with a disregard for available cooking technologies and ultimately for small businesses in the community that rely on gas-burning equipment for their cuisines.”

I love that Coulter is standing up for the First Amendment and exposing the Berkeley Leftists.

She agreed to all their unreasonable demands but Berkeley still cancelled the speech.

Concerns about rioting, having a replay of the Milo Yiannopoulos riots, are no excuse to shut Coulter down. The Leftist thugs will keep using or threatening violence to silence any conservative speakers. Berkeley can't claim to support free speech when only Leftist speakers are permitted on campus.

Gavin McInnes at NYU: Protesters Shut Down Free Speech

On Wednesday, it was Berkeley. Thursday, it was NYU.

No free speech in America.

Once again, Leftist protesters became violent when a conservative speaker was scheduled to give a speech on a university campus.

The New York Post reports:

The NYPD was out in full-force at NYU on Thursday night as protesters gathered to voice their disgust with conservative actor and Vice Media co-founder Gavin McInnes, who was inside holding a seminar for the school’s College Republicans.

...“Who’s campus, our campus!” demonstrators yelled, as McInnes attempted to speak.

“Shame! Shame! Shame!” the crowd added.

“Why are you repeating the same nonsense over and over?” McInnes asked at one point, before riling up the protesters even more.

After a few more minutes of back-and-forth, the controversial comedian appears to end his speech early — telling an NYU spokesperson, “You’re a dumb liberal asshole” and “You think these are rational beings” — before storming away, NYU Local reports.

“Gavin has left the podium, doesn’t intend to come back,” the news source tweeted. “Leaves with aforementioned scathing remark to University spokesman.”

McInnes almost didn’t even make it inside on Thursday night, on account of the “antifa” protesters rushing him at the entrance, according to Gizomodo reporter Anna Merlan.

...As McInnes entered, the unruly crowd chanted things like, “Nazi scum your time has come,” while also lighting “Make America Great Again” hats on fire.

They chanted a lot more than that. The "unruly crowd" was virulently anti-police.

This isn't just a protest against Gavin McInnes or Donald Trump. It's also anti-police.
