Karen Bass and Fidel Castro
Why do so many Dems adore communist dictators?
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) August 2, 2020
And murderers & torturers? https://t.co/u3xmENsogc
Democrat Karen Bass mourned the passing of Fidel Castro in 2016.
She wrote, "As Cuba begins nine days of mourning, I wish to express my condolences to the Cuban people and the family of Fidel Castro. The passing of the Comandante en Jefe is a great loss to the people of Cuba."
Democrat Bass, like many of her fellow Dems, idolize brutal dictators.
For Bass to even be under consideration to be Joe Biden's vice presidential pick is a disgrace.

Black Lives Matter, Assata Shakur, and Castro
Black Lives Matter is a radical group. They are anti-police. They want to overthrow our country. This is not something recently exposed.
It seems like such an awful business move to throw in with these extremists.
Does the NBA really want to endorse Black Lives Matter, supporter of domestic terrorism and brutal dictators?
Do mayors really want their city streets emblazoned with this radical group's moniker?
Do businesses really want to have Black Lives Matter signs in their windows, showing support for its violent and Marxist agenda?
I hope they don't realize what they're supporting. I fear they may.
Here is a post from November 28, 2016:
__________________
The Black Lives Matter movement is defending Fidel Castro and thanking him for protecting Assata Shakur, the cop-killing, domestic terrorist.
From Lukas Mikelionis, Heat Street:
The Black Lives Matter movement has come out in support of Fidel Castro, following his death on Friday, saying they must “come to the defense of El Comandante” and thanking him for safeguarding Assata Shakur, who’s on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list. It's a disgrace that the Black Lives Matter movement is propped up and legitimized by the Leftist media rather than exposed for what it really is.
The movement penned an article on Sunday titled “Lessons from Fidel: Black Lives Matter and the Transition of El Comandante” on the Medium platform where they eulogized the passing of the Cuban dictator. The article, which was not bylined, was Tweeted out by the closest thing there is to an official Black Lives Matter account and also posted on the movement’s semi-official Facebook page.
The article claims Castro’s death has caused “and overwhelming sense of loss, complicated by fear and anxiety.”
...The BLM movement is also also “particularly grateful” to Castro for harboring “Mama Assata Shakur, who continues to inspire us.” Shakur, whose real name is Joanne Chesimard, is currently on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list with a $1 million bounty on her head.
She was convicted in the U.S. of killing a New Jersey state trooper, assault and battery of a police officer. After she escaped from prison, Castro granted her asylum in Cuba in 1984.
It's a radical group. It's anti-police. It promotes lawlessness. It supports brutal dictators and finds a cop-killing, domestic terrorist inspiring.
That's a problem.

Biden: 'I'm Surprised That Sanders Is Joining Trump'
It’s actually difficult to watch this clip. It’s not Biden’s fault, but he cannot be Commander-in-Chief.

Even if our country could somehow embrace his radical views, he cannot handle the hardest job on earth...pic.twitter.com/kPiKXtacaK
What is he talking about?!?
Joe Biden is simply not fit to run for president.
I understand why Democrats think Bernie Sanders, self-avowed Castro-loving Socialist, is incapable of beating President Trump. But how can they vote for Biden? He is not well.
The Democrats endorsing Biden should be ashamed of themselves.
Biden needs to prove that he is capable. The Democrat party cannot hide the truth from the American people.
The people propping up Biden, especially the media, need to end this now.
If the media scrutinized candidate Biden appropriately, he would not be the front runner.
Everyone knows Biden is not well. This is has to stop.

Obama's Statement on Castro - Cowardly and Weak
Statement by the President on the Passing of Fidel CastroIf Obama had been president when Mao died, I wonder if his statement would have referenced the tens of millions he killed.
At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans - in Cuba and in the United States - with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.
For nearly six decades, the relationship between the United States and Cuba was marked by discord and profound political disagreements. During my presidency, we have worked hard to put the past behind us, pursuing a future in which the relationship between our two countries is defined not by our differences but by the many things that we share as neighbors and friends - bonds of family, culture, commerce, and common humanity. This engagement includes the contributions of Cuban Americans, who have done so much for our country and who care deeply about their loved ones in Cuba.
Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro's family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.
My guess is no.
Obama issued a wishy-washy, wimpy statement on Castro's death. He alludes to "powerful emotions" without specifically commenting on the brutality of Castro's dictatorship. He doesn't mention the suffering Castro caused.
It was typically cowardly and Leftist in tone.
The only thing missing is the infamous Obama bow.

This is delicious timing. "...Kaepernick, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, explains to me, the guy born in Havana, how great Castro really is." https://t.co/o2iQNYZo4s
In a column appearing in the Miami Herald, Armando Salguero documents Colin Kaepernick's support for Fidel Castro.
It's quite a coincidence. The column was published on Friday before news of Castro's death broke.
Unrepentant hypocrite Colin Kaepernick defends Fidel Castro
The August evening the nation first noticed Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem at an NFL game, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback held a postgame news conference, as is typical league policy. At that news conference Kaepernick wore a T-shirt emblazoned with photos from a 1960 meeting between Malcolm X and Fidel Castro.
So after his first notable protest against what last week he called the “systematic oppression” of minorities in the United States, and saying he wants “freedom for all people,” Colin Kaepernick put on a T-shirt that featured a supportive image of one of the 20th century’s most enduring oppressors.
This absurd contradiction between what Kaepernick said and does was only a distant annoyance to me because, although I was born into Cuba’s imprisonment, I don’t often write about Kaepernick or his team. This wasn’t my fight.
But this week Colin Kaepernick is on a teleconference call with me and other South Florida reporters who cover the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are playing Kaepernick’s team Sunday. And Kaepernick is saying if anyone is “OK with people being treated unfairly, being harassed, being terrorized, then the problem is more what they’re doing in their lives …”
And because Kaepernick apparently doesn’t understand his words apply to him before he can apply them to others, I ask the man who protests oppression why he wore the Castro shirt when the tyrant is demonstrably a star on the world’s All Oppressor team?
...So I ask Kaepernick how he can protest oppression then ignorantly don a T-shirt featuring an oppressor?
...I’m hoping Kaepernick understands one should not make broad statements about standing up for people’s rights, then slip into a Fidel Castro shirt, suggesting approval for a man who has spent his days on the planet stifling people’s rights.
And that’s exactly the moment Kaepernick shows how lost he truly is. Because in the next breath, Kaepernick, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, explains to me, the guy born in Havana, how great Castro really is.
“One thing Fidel Castro did do is they have the highest literacy rate because they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here even though we’re fully capable of doing that,” Kaepernick said.
...First, Cuba does not have the highest literacy rate. Second, don’t be surprised if the same people who report Cuba’s admittedly high literacy rate are related to those who report its election results — the ones in which the Castros get 100 percent of the votes.
Third, could it be Cuba doesn’t have to invest a lot in its prison system because, you know, dungeons and firing squads (El Paredon) are not too expensive to maintain?
... I tell Kaepernick that the United States may not invest as much as he wants on education (actually, the investment is staggering) but we also don’t break up families here.
“We do break up families here,” Kaepernick responded. “That’s what mass incarceration is. That was the foundation of slavery. So our country has been based on that as well as the genocide of native Americans.”
...I ask Kaepernick if he’s equating the breaking up of Cuban exile families by a dictator with people being sentenced to prison in the United States.
“I’m equating the breaking up of families with the breaking up of families,” Kaepernick responded.
...My exchange with Kaepernick ended there, after about three minutes, because I was stunned how someone so outspoken about his beliefs could be so ignorant to facts not up for debate. I suppose he thinks he made salient points in our back and forth.
All he did was expose himself as a fraud.
So wear your Malcolm X shirt that features Fidel Castro, Colin Kaepernick. Wear it around a town where hundreds of thousands of Cuban exiles live with memories similar to mine. Wear it on the field Sunday during pregame if you’re so proud of it.
Show everyone what an unrepentant hypocrite you are.
Kaepernick is on the record as defending Castro.
Thankfully, Salguero introduces some reality into the discussion.
The mourning of Castro by the Leftists, like Andrea Mitchell, Chris Matthews, and others at MSNBC, and most likely, Kaepernick, is seriously misguided.
Cuban Americans are celebrating the brutal dictator's death, not crying because Castro is gone.
Kaepernick continues to reveal his cluelessness.

Karen Halnon - Professor, Nutjob (Video)
Dr. Karen Halnon is a Penn State Albington sociology professor, and a complete loon.
From Philadelphia Magazine:
Halnon was flying from Nicaragua to Miami when she let loose with a tirade about Venezuela, possibly a reaction to President Obama’s recent sanctions against Venezuelan authorities. As is the case with all airplane antics in the 21st Century, the passengers caught some of it on video.
Once off the plane, Halnon still wouldn't shut up, spewing drivel to anyone masochistic enough to submit to it.
Can you comment on your arrest and on the videos of you on the plane that are circulating? The distinguished Dr. Karen Bettez Halnon is an anti-American nut.
I do have a comment. I know that I expressed an act of civil disobedience. But that act was necessary.
Why so?
I'm very knowledgable about that part of the world. I teach about U.S. imperialism in Latin America. And the U.S. has declared war against Venezuela. That means military aggression. They tried to take out Hugo with a coup, and then they took him out with cancer.
Oh?
It is my opinion — and Fidel agrees with me …
As in Castro?
Yes, Fidel agrees with me that the CIA had some involvement in giving him cancer, and so he died very sadly.
...The problem is U.S. military global domination. And they want the oil. And they want the water. And so I found that this act was a necessary Thoreau-like act of civil disobedience. I had to speak out now. The situation is dire and urgent, and any sacrifice I make for my own self, if it saves lives — there have been far too many lives lost due to U.S. global military domination.
What happened once you landed in Miami?
The FBI and TSA tortured me. My voice generally doesn't sound like this. I was put in a room with two fans in the ceiling, it was freezing cold for hours and hours and hours. I asked repeatedly to go to the bathroom. They made me wet my pants. They humiliated me. And then to make matters worse, I have a stomach condition. Everything that comes in goes out. I've been like that for months since I left Cuba. I've lost over 30 pounds. And I was yelling that I had to go to the bathroom. But they ignored me, and I defecated on the floor. And they made me pick it up and laughed at me.
That's awful. But what of the cigarette? One reporter who covered your actions said that lighting a cigarette on a plane is just a little better than yelling "BOMB!"
Why did I have a lighter if there is such great national security? It was right in the top of my book bag.
Listen, the point is, I am a sociologist, and I live in an intellectual world. A sociologist always thinks in terms of symbols. And every revolutionary I know smokes. It was identifying with the revolutionary cause. And then, beyond that, it is a symbol that the United States is a smoking gun. The action was necessary. They are going to kill many more people.
Some people would look at that video and wonder if you were under the influence of a substance. And I know you pleaded guilty in 2013 in Horsham Township to public drunkenness. Do you have a substance abuse issue?
No. I do not have a substance abuse issue. I have had many sufferings in my life, but no. I had a little bottle of wine on the plane that I mixed with apple and cranberry juice over three drinks. A spritzer, if you will. But I wasn't drunk. I don't need alcohol to protest. This is my life.
I am passionate about being an anti-imperialist. To follow Jesus is to be with the poor, to be with the suffering, to be with the oppressed, and to be anti-imperialist.
I made some mistakes here, but it wasn't a mistake to speak out. I would do it again today. Ask anyone who knows me.
Will she be banned from campus? Is her career in jeopardy? Clearly, she's a sociopath and presents a danger.
I wonder how Marquette University would deal with her.
Probably give her an award.

Robert Gibbs Slams FOX for Not Airing Obama Address
Robert Gibbs is really ticked off that Obama's address to a joint session of Congress will be competing with So You Think You Can Dance on FOX.
How dare FOX elect to carry Obama's health care commercial/speech on its news channel and not on its broadcast network!
Fidel Castro never had to deal with this sort of insolence. Dictators own the airwaves.
What does FOX think this is? America?
Video.
ROBERT GIBBS: One quick thing-- I, I do hope that the viewers of FOX will, uh, find a way to watch this speech tonight. I know that, uh, the network instead of dealing with the reality of millions of people, uh, on health insurance reform, uh, have decided to show a reality show, uh, called something like So You Think You Can Dance....
Well, I do hope, uh, I do hope people will, uh, will check in to the reality of what's going on in America, uh, rather than the distraction of a reality TV show.
Do you get the feeling that the Obama White House doesn't like FOX?
I'm picking up that vibe.
