Felicia Mae Garlin

Initially, I thought Felicia Mae Garlin, daughter of murdered Tammie Garlin, was subjected to the unspeakable torture of being forced to help bury her own mother after she had been strangled to death.

I thought that she suffered as she watched her 11-year-old little brother being mercilessly abused.

It turns out that 15-year-old Felicia Mae Garlin's role in what happened wasn't at all what I assumed.

Today, she was charged as an adult with eight felonies and one misdemeanor, including first-degree intentional homicide.

Here's more.

A 15-year-old girl and three adults were charged Wednesday with murdering the girl's mother, burying her body and torturing the girl's little brother by repeatedly scalding him with hot water.

...Charged with first-degree intentional homicide are Candace Clark, 23; Michael Sisk, 25; Michaela Clerc, 20; and 15-year-old Felicia Mae Garlin. That charge carries a punishment of life in prison.

Bail was set Wednesday at $500,000 for Garlin, $350,000 for Clerc and bail was denied for Clark and Sisk.

An autopsy concluded that Tammie Garlin likely died of strangulation. The complaint, citing statements from some of the defendants, says Tammie Garlin died around June 4 after they repeatedly kicked her and dropped her on her head when they were moving her to the bathroom.

The four then put her body in the trunk of a car and buried her the next day in the backyard, the complaint said.

The complaint said Clark and Sisk were boyfriend and girlfriend and Clerc and Tammie Garlin were lovers for five years. Clerc was angry because she thought Tammie Garlin had cheated on her, the complaint said.

The group — including Clark's three young children and Garlin's son and daughter — had lived in Florida, Maine, Tennessee, Kentucky and Colorado over the past year and recently moved to Wisconsin to "see snow," the complaint said.

The four also face charges for hiding Tammie Garlin's body and the abuse of the 11-year-old boy. The boy told authorities he was repeatedly burned with hot water by the four, including by sister Felicia, who laughed as she burned him, the complaint said.

The boy said the four would tie his hands behind his back and his legs together and then put him in the bathtub where they would run scalding hot water over him, the complaint said. During such occasions, they would threaten to drown him.

His sister, Clark and Sisk also strangled him multiple times, and punched and kicked him in the stomach and face, the boy told authorities.

The boy also said he was whipped almost daily with a belt and extension cords, and typically forced to get naked and locked in a closet in his sister's bedroom, where he slept.

This is really nauseating.

I don't understand how people can be so conscienceless.

How can they have a soul and yet be capable of committing such acts?

And Felicia Mae Garlin, why did she do what she allegedly did?

How could she?

How could she allegedly take part in her mother's murder and her brother's torture?

I can't begin to comprehend this. It's inhuman. It really is.

Pure evil.

What else you expect? I had the suspicion that this was another case of dysfunctional family where teenagers had absolutely no supervision and adults were basically engaged in reckless living.

You were right, Vittal.

There are degrees of dysfunction. This is off the charts.

This case is terribly sickening!! Dysfunctional is an understatement! Psychotic - Totally disgusting!! Horrorific! Tammie Garlin's murder was purely sadistic! The torture of the 11 year old boy was purely evil! The other 3 youngest girls of Clark have suffered too, but focus has been placed on the 11 year old boy, which is where it belongs for now. The 3 month old suffered from malnutrition! and that is an understatement! The 2 year old who sparked this search was originally in foster care in Florida. Why she was in foster care is not fully understood or known. For the safety of 3 youngest children, the media hasn't released all of the facts to the public - partly because of the horrorifying nature of this case (Truly evil!) The caring public nationwide -- please for the sake of the 11 year old boy and the 3 young girls -- donate to Portage Cares -- The Portage Daily Register has set up a fund for these children. The paper kicked off this fund with $100 and dispite media interest and communtiy interest has not made much more. DONATE PLEASE!! To find out more - go to Portage Daily Register - http://www.wiscnews.com/pdr/
Thanks 3 month old "Peanuts" foster auntie!

I read the story in the newspaper this morning, and was somewhat intrigued, what would make a teenage girl want to assist in the murder of her mother?

I plan on writing her in jail as soon as I get the address for the jail in Columbia Co. and which part she's located in.

It has to be just more than teen angst, but who knows for sure.

I doubt she'll tell my why, or that she'll even write back, but I have high hopes.

I surely don't think though, that we have any right to be calling her evil though, for we don't know the entire story. Perhaps her mother was abusive to her? Maybe she planned on turning the three adults in on the identity fraud ring they were involved in.

Until the entire story gets released, leaked, or otherwise, we'll never truly know.

About the 11 year old boy:

It's safe to assume, like you said, that the children were being raised in a fairly fucked up environ.

I imagine that at 11 years old, the boy has a fair idea of whats going on and can think for himself, to a certain degree.

To say he could be lying would be overkill, but he also could be exaggerating. If I was forced to sleep naked in my sisters closet, I could see being a bit sore towards her.

Anywho, if she had enough anger, passion, or whatever, to help murder her own mother, then bury her, she seems worth writing to.

She might just be an interesting human being.

In a brutally violent type of way.

Notice in my post I say that Felicia Garlin is alleged to have taken part in the death of her mother.

Wixom, you seem to be going out of your way to come up with excuses for the girl. You accuse the boy of exaggerating.

The wounds on his body don't lie. Authorities have said it's the worst case of abuse they've ever seen.

The girl will have her day in court. I hope justice is done.

In case anybody missed it, human beings are totally capable of total depravity of the soul. The people involved in this incident are evil and sold out to evil in the depths of their souls. It is wrong and will always be wrong no matter what the circumstances to hurt other human beings in the way that this young man was hurt. He will have to live the rest of his life with the echoes of the laughter and torment of depraved human beings enjoying his pain. It is beyond inhumane or any of the other adjectives used on this blog. They are lost souls condemned to judgment unless they admit their sin, believe in Christ and confess Christ in His true position as Lord. They can be redeemed but they may not accept that. The little brother can be healed and I for one will pray for God's comfort and relief from pain and for safety and the knowledge that even if he isn't important to the people who should have loved him most, that he is important to the God of the universe who heard his cries and sent people to deliver him from his torment. God bless the police who didn't ignore the request to investigate this house. Please pray for Andrew for his physical, emotional and spiritual healing.

Andrew Garlin has a long recovery ahead of him.

I pray that he will fully recover, emotionally and physically.

I hope he is placed in a loving home and receives the sort of care that every child deserves.
