Milwaukee Juneteenth Day Assault

I've watched local news reports. I've read the print media. I've scoured websites.

There's something missing from the accounts of the violence in Milwaukee.

Police said a 33-year-old man was hurt when hundreds of teenagers swarmed around traffic in the area of North First and West Chambers streets.

They said people rocked the man's vehicle, smashed the windows, dragged him out of the car, and kicked and hit him.

He was treated at an area hospital for cuts on his face and a broken tooth.

He told police he has no idea why he was targeted.

We know the victim was a 33-year-old man.

We know he was dragged out of his car and beaten.

We know he received cuts and a broken tooth.

We know that he claims he didn't incite the attack.

We DON'T know his race.

From the footage of the attack, taken from a helicopter, the man appears to be dark-skinned.

Does it matter? Yes.

If a white mob had dragged a non-white man out of a car and beaten him, the media would be drooling all over the story.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be catching the first flight to Milwaukee that they could get.

Enquiring minds want to know. What is the victim's race?

Was this a racially motivated hate crime? Was it another senseless case of black on black crime?

Why not report ALL the facts?

But Mary, it ONLY counts if the victim was not white. If it was a white person, it means he was guilty....of being white, and deserved whatever happened. grrrrr

Even if this man was white, media wouldn't have covered it. By the way, I am not a white. But, I understand how today's media is colorblind! It's really pathetic.

What's disturbing is the double standard and the way the race card is played.

Race is used as a convenient ploy at times and completely ignored in other cases.
