Rebecca Chandler and Raven Larrabee

UPDATE, November 11, 2011: Rebecca Chandler, Raven Larrabee Released From Jail; No Charges Filed

One of the women accused of being involved in a satanic sexual encounter and stabbing told 12 News on Friday afternoon that she came up with, and participated in, a stabbing on Milwaukee's east side, but that it was a cult-related activity, not sexual in nature.

Contrary to reports, 20-year-old Raven Larrabee said the activity had no satanic influence. She told 12 News the 18-year-old Arizona man who was cut more than 300 times consented to being restrained with duct tape and lightly stabbed with a knife.

Larrabee said after three hours, the man broke free from his restraints and threatened to kill her.

She said the two struggled on the floor and she attempted to stab him lethally as he kicked her.

Both Larrabee and her 22-year-old roommate, Rebecca Chandler, were released from jail Friday and have not been charged.

Watch video of the interview.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Larrabee told WISN that the activity was neither cult-related nor sexual and that the man, who was cut 300 times, was given breaks as well as water and pain-relief medication.

"I believe it was just something that got out of hand for both parties," said a dark-haired woman who shielded her face during the interview.

Why was the man stabbed?

"Torture, he consented to it," the woman said.

"He was cut shallowly, a few times on his arms and legs, back, lightly stabbed," she added.

She said the man asked to be released but that "is not what we agreed to."

He said, she said.

Obviously, police believe the women's version of what happened has merit.

Tale from the Crypt (aka Milwaukee):

Police make second arrest in bizarre, sex-related stabbing case
Milwaukee police make a second arrest in a bizarre, sex-related stabbing case that unfolded on the city's east side.

Police arrived at Knapp and Astor Sunday night to find an 18-year-old man bleeding from the neck, arms and back.

According to a search warrant, the victim told officers he had been bound and stabbed by a woman more than 300 times over a two-day period.

When officers search the apartment from where he came, they found several books including a necromantic ritual book.

"They're supposed to be for fun, something that you read as a novice and enjoy. It's not supposed to be something that you try to do to bring harm to others," said John Reeves, a follower of Wicca.

The search warrant says 22-year-old Rebecca Chandler approached police at the scene saying, "I think you are here looking for me." Chandler said the cutting was consensual, but got quickly out of hand. She said her roommate with a fake name of "Scarlett" had done most of it.

... As for the victim, he declined interviews. But his latest Facebook status simply says, "stitches."

The 18-year-old victim traveled from Arizona to Milwaukee after meeting one of the suspects online.

The guy took a bus. That had to be a nightmare in itself. What was he thinking?

From The Smoking Gun:

Two young Milwaukee women were arrested this week after an 18-year-old Arizona man--who traveled to Wisconsin by bus after meeting one of the suspects online--told cops that he was held captive in the duo’s apartment for two days and slashed and stabbed more than 300 times as part of an apparent satanic sex ritual.

A Milwaukee Police Department search warrant for the East Knapp Street apartment where the man was held details his ordeal. The warrant authorized cops to seize an assortment of items from the residence, including “knives or other cutting instruments,” blood and DNA evidence, duct tape, restraining devices, and “Books or literature relating to Satanism or the occult.”

The police investigation began Sunday night after cops responded to a report of a possible stabbing. Officers found the Arizona man “bleeding from the neck, arms and back.” He told cops that after arriving at the home of a woman he met online, he “was bound and was stabbed numerous times over a timeframe of what he described as ‘two days.’”

The man was transported to a local hospital, where medical personnel “estimated the number of wounds to be in excess of 300,” according to a search warrant affidavit sworn by Detective Michael Walisiciwicz. “He suffered multiple puncture wounds as well as lacerations and slash wounds to his back, face, arms, legs and neck,” noted Walisiciwicz.

Officers responding to the reported stabbing discovered “bloody duct tape, which was fashioned in a manner that appeared to be a restraint, as well as a bloody length of rope” in the area where the victim was found.

A blood trail led police to Apartment 9 on the third floor of 918 East Knapp Street. Inside, cops spotted a “large amount of blood on the floor and on bedding in a bedroom.” They also saw “duct tape, which was fashioned in a manner that appeared to be a restraint.”

While at the apartment building, police were approached by Rebecca Chandler, 22, who stated, “I think you are here looking for me.” Chandler told cops that she had engaged in sexual relations with the Arizona man “and that the cutting was consensual but that it got quickly out of hand.”

As weird as the satanic sex ritual stuff is, I still can't get over the guy sitting on a bus for well over a thousand miles to get to Milwaukee just to hook up with someone he met online.

Maybe he thought he found his soulmate and was in search of true love. Maybe he intended to sell his soul to Satan.

Who knows?

Wisconsin is a very Wiccan-friendly state.

In December 2001, a Wiccan was hired to be a chaplain at a state facility.

The new chaplain at Waupun Correctional Institution is a Wiccan.

And a Witch.

The Rev. Jamyi Witch, who has voluntarily ministered to Wisconsin inmates for at least two years, began her new full-time position at the maximum security facility this week. She is believed to be the first Wiccan chaplain in Wisconsin and one of only a handful nationwide.

Department of Corrections officials on Wednesday defended the hire, saying Witch met the position's requirements and that it would be unfair and illegal to bar her from serving because of her faith.

...The Wisconsin corrections system has 36 chaplain positions, said spokesman Bill Clausius. "Times have changed," he said. "It's not just Catholic and Protestant anymore."

If Chandler and Larrabee are incarcerated, maybe they'll have access to a Wiccan chaplain. That would be nice.
