Mitt Romney and Jay Leno: Paul Ryan, Trump, Santorum (Video)

Mitt Romney was Jay Leno's guest on Tuesday's Tonight Show.

Romney came off as poised and confident. More importantly in terms of the value of the Tonight Show appearance, he was likable.

Leno was somewhat of a jerk, revealing himself to be a brainwashed Leftist as he attempted to debate Romney on issues.

Leno said some ridiculous things, taking the stand that Obama's comments to Medvedev about his post-election "flexibility" was no big deal. He went on to insist that Russia poses no threat to us. That's more than a bit naive.

Leno's stupidity on foreign policy matters was rather embarrassing.

I don't think Leno treated Romney with the respect he deserves.

Here's a video clip that mentions our own Paul Ryan.

Leno had told Romney to give him one word descriptions of each person he mentioned.

Mitt Romney on Possible VPs (3/27/12)

JAY LENO: Paul Ryan.

MITT ROMNEY: Paul Ryan. [Pause] Uh... uh... creative.

LENO: Creative?

ROMNEY: Yeah, yeah.

[Audience applause]

It was interesting that Romney took his time with Paul Ryan. He responded quickly to all the others Leno named. I don't know how to read that. I get the feeling Romney knows Ryan can help him but he also has the power to hurt him, so he treads lightly. Plus, the Wisconsin primary is less than a week away. Romney wouldn't want to tick off Wisconsin voters by dissing Ryan.

The next person Leno mentioned in this rather lame exercise was odd. Apparently, NBC thinks of Donald Trump as a possible VP candidate.

Riiiiiight.

It was probably more of a cheap plug for Celebrity Apprentice than anything else.

LENO: Donald Trump.

ROMNEY: Huge.

Funny.
LENO: Rick Santorum.

ROMNEY: Um, press secretary.

I don't think Santorum would find that humorous.

Am I recalling correctly here? Until a few weeks ago you considered Leno fairly even handed. Now he's a leftist? There are no gradations on your political spectrum, are there? No Roy G. Biv, just an R and a V.

You are recalling incorrectly.

Since Obama was elected, I have been calling out Leno.
