Democrat Debate and the Electoral College

These Democrats are only in Iowa because they have to be.

If they got their way, they would abolish the Electoral College and never campaign in our nation’s heartland again.

Exactly.

Iowa wouldn't matter.

The Democrats want to abolish the Electoral College.

If Democrats got their way, Wisconsin and states with smaller populations would become irrelevant electorally. No need for presidential candidates to campaign outside huge population centers.

The balance of power in terms of the states would shift. Issues important to people in the heartland would be eclipsed by the interests of large cities.

The founders established the Legislative Branch and the Electoral College in a manner to address the threat of that sort of mob rule.

It's incredible that the Democrats will hold their convention in Milwaukee because of their 2016 Electoral College debacle while promoting the abolishment of the Electoral College.

It's the Electoral College, stupid. And lots of other things, of course.
