As a U.S. senator, in March 2001, while appearing on FOX News Sunday, Byrd made bigoted comments with no reprimand from his liberal cohorts.

Byrd wasn't just a rank and file member of the Ku Klux Klan. He was a founding father of a chapter in West Virginia and was elected "Exalted Cyclops."
