The Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady LGBTQ+ cruise sailed through the Mediterranean but was denied permission to dock at some locations. Turkish authorities say the cruise was chartered by a group "known for behavior that does not align with the values and moral standards of our society..." Passengers are mad that the countries didn't let them "be celebrated for who they are." "We thought that it would be a great opportunity for those people in those countries to also experience what it's like outside of the rest of the world where people can be free and be celebrated for who they are," a Miami resident said. That's awful. It seems that the U.S. is not a dangerous, threatening place for LGBTQ+ people compared to other countries around the world. It seems LGBTQ+ people haven't lost rights in the U.S. It seems like that's just another flat-out false narrative promoted by the dishonest media. It seems like there's no place like home.
