Some gays are fuming after their gay cruise was denied entry into Turkey & Egypt due to "moral standards."

The Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady LGBTQ+ cruise sailed through the Mediterranean but was denied permission to dock at some locations.

Turkish authorities say the cruise was chartered by a group "known for behavior that does not align with the values and moral standards of our society..."

Passengers are mad that the countries didn't let them "be celebrated for who they are."

"We thought that it would be a great opportunity for those people in those countries to also experience what it's like outside of the rest of the world where people can be free and be celebrated for who they are," a Miami resident said.

That's awful.

It seems that the U.S. is not a dangerous, threatening place for LGBTQ+ people compared to other countries around the world.

It seems LGBTQ+ people haven't lost rights in the U.S. It seems like that's just another flat-out false narrative promoted by the dishonest media.

It seems like there's no place like home.

Being famous has a lot of perks, but there's a downside. Managing one's image must be a pain.

To some extent, we all have to manage our images. Each of us has a reputation. Maybe it matters to you. Maybe it doesn't. Do you need the acceptance and approval of others? Are you comfortable enough in your own skin to not care what others think about you?

As social beings, we all deal with our place in the larger group. But, being in the public spotlight, you're judged on a dramatically larger stage. When your livelihood depends on fans, you need to take the public into account.

It's sad that Barry Manilow felt that he would disappoint his fans if he came out as gay. I don't know, but I'm guessing he probably misjudged them. Most likely knew he was gay. Why would anyone care whether Manilow was heterosexual or homosexual or fill-in-the-blank? It's irrelevant.

If his fans like his music and his performances, then they do. I doubt they would abandon him because of his choice of partner. His personal life is an entirely different realm that his fans don't and shouldn't fully access. No need to hide being gay.

I hope Manilow learned something by coming out.

Most people will accept you for the person you are.

If they don't, that's their problem.

No sooner had the New York Times coined the term “gay Twitter” to describe online backlash to a Hillary Clinton statement about Nancy Reagan than that very story prompted an online backlash of its own.

“There’s a gay twitter?” one commenter quickly tweeted.

The fuss started with the Times’ story — published online on Friday and initially headlined “Hillary Clinton Lauds Reagans on AIDS. Gay Twitter Erupts” — about the Democratic presidential frontrunner apologizing for comments she made about Nancy Reagan’s “effective, low-key advocacy” of HIV/AIDS.

LGBT advocates noted that both Ronald and Nancy Reagan have been widely criticized for ignoring the AIDS epidemic, which started during Reagan’s second year in office — prompting Clinton to walk back her initial praise for the former first lady, whose funeral was held on Friday.

The New York Times piece was correct about one thing… Twitter soon erupted, but it wasn’t so much about Clinton’s head-scratching apology. It was about the Times itself, whom some online commenters called insensitive in its terminology.

I'm sure those in Hillary's camp are happy to push the "gay Twitter" controversy to take the attention off her AIDS remarks.

Consider the criticism the Times is getting.

Now, can you imagine what would be happening if Trump or Cruz or any Republican/conservative used that term?

There would be tremendous outrage and massive protests.

Wait. Protesters are already outraged and successfully shut down a Trump rally in Chicago.

Well, I'm sure there would be even more outrage and more protests.

Westboro Church Protests at Marquette

Members of Westboro Baptist Church have spent most of this century behaving despicably by staging protests at solemn occasions like the funerals of American soldiers killed in Iraq.

The head of the church, Fred Phelps, passed away earlier this year. His daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, is continuing his twisted mission.

Westboro Baptist Church members traveled from Topeka, Kansas on Monday, December 8th to protest in Wisconsin.

One main stop for them was the Marquette University campus in downtown Milwaukee. They were protesting gay marriage. The university was ready for them though. Dozens of students banned together across the street from the small group of about five Westboro Church Members, with signs of their own and chants of school spirit.

...Westboro Baptist Church is known for traveling around the country, protesting issues they believe God is against, like same-sex marriage. The group has also picketed outside of military funerals.

...Westboro Baptist Church members say they went to Marquette’s campus because of what happened last month in an ethics class. A student accused a teacher of not allowing someone in class to voice his opinion against gay marriage. Another professor then got wind of the incident and blogged about it, capturing the church group’s attention.

“This is a religious institution which means they`ve invoked the name of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, yet you have a teacher teaching rebellion against God and his plain, plain never-changing standards,” said Shirley Phelps-Roper, a Westboro Baptist Church member.

“I was very surprised that something as small as a dispute in an ethics class would catch their attention, but I guess they`ll jump on anything to prove their point,” said Doug Floski, a Marquette senior.

It's unfortunate that the Westboro Baptist Church nuts decided to protest in support of the student who was told by the philosophy instructor, Cheryl Abbate, that questioning the morality of gay marriage would not be tolerated in her class. The student was effectively silenced. He dropped the class.

These hateful Westboro extremists shouldn't be allowed to distract from the seriousness of what happened at Marquette. Preventing a student in an ethics class from simply expressing a view that reflects the teaching of the Catholic Church is messed up. After all, Marquette University still markets itself as a Catholic institution. It's terribly troubling that the instructor was permitted to successfully silence a student for wanting to voice the Church's stance, something Abbate considers homophobic.

Staging a counterprotest to the Westboro group would be a good thing for the Marquette students to do, if their purpose was to speak out against the church members' inappropriate behavior and hateful activities. My concern, however, is that the students were also protesting to show support for Abbate's behavior. That's a problem.

We should not let the positively unacceptable manner in which Abbate conducted herself to be lost in this Westboro mess.

Bottom line: A student in an ethics class at a Jesuit university should be allowed to express the teaching of the Catholic Church. Failing to permit a discussion on gay marriage in the context of the phil class is the real issue, not the Westboro crazies.

Jonah Hill Apologizes on 'Tonight Show'

Well, that was awkward.

Jonah Hill just gave what apparently was a heartfelt apology for using a homophobic slur.

It always odd to witness an apology when you didn't know about the offense.

Hill basically said the same stuff to Jimmy Fallon.

Hill is a Leftist so he'll be forgiven, like Alec Baldwin.

Michael Sam: Gay

Michael Sam is gay.

Apparently, this announcement has the potential to be positively seismic, since Sam's future is expected to include playing in the NFL.

Michael Sam, an All-American defensive lineman from Missouri and the Associated Press' SEC Defensive Player of the Year, said that he is gay in an interview with ESPN's "Outside the Lines" on Sunday.

Sam stated publicly what his teammates and coaches at Mizzou have known since August: "I am an openly, proud gay man."

Sam is eligible for the NFL draft in May. Assuming that he is drafted, Sam could become the first openly gay player in the history of the NFL.

"I understand how big this is," he said. "It's a big deal. No one has done this before. And it's kind of a nervous process, but I know what I want to be ... I want to be a football player in the NFL."

..."I knew from a young age that I was attracted to guys," he said, "I didn't know if it was a phase ... I didn't want to say, 'Hey, I might be gay. I might be bi.' I just didn't know ... I wanted to find who I was and make sure I knew what was comfortable. So I didn't tell anyone growing up."

It was an upbringing, he said, filled with adversity.

"I endured so much in my past: seeing my older brother killed from a gunshot wound, not knowing that my oldest sister died when she was a baby and I never got the chance to meet her. My second oldest brother went missing in 1998, and me and my little sister were the last ones to see him ... my other two brothers have been in and out of jail since 8th grade, currently both in jail.

"Telling the world I'm gay is nothing compared to that."

Sam had dinner on Saturday with Dave Kopay, a former NFL player who said he was gay in 1975 -- three years after his playing career ended.

On Sunday night, the NFL released a statement supporting Sam.

"We admire Michael Sam's honesty and courage," NFL senior vice president of communications Greg Aiello said in the statement. "Michael is a football player. Any player with ability and determination can succeed in the NFL. We look forward to welcoming and supporting Michael Sam in 2014."

Frankly, I think it's weird that Sam's announcement is considered courageous.

Why make a big deal out of it? He's gay. So what?

I don't.

I assume the NFL currently has gay players. Some people are gay. No kidding. Whoop-dee-do.

But, but, but there's never been an openly gay player in the NFL before. This is really big stuff.

Really? I don't think so.

He's a very talented football player. That's what matters.

The NFL accepts criminals in its ranks, people who have broken the law and committed serious offenses. It would be crazy to reject someone based on his sexual orientation.

On the other hand, it would be crazy to draft him just to make a statement.

I DON'T CARE about Michael Sam's sexual orientation. It makes absolutely no difference to me. The media are telling me I'm supposed to care.

Twitter is engaging in censorship. Users are being blocked from tweeting about a petition drive aimed at A&E.

In the latest development in the ongoing culture war surrounding Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s controversial remarks on homosexuality, the pro-Robertson website iStandwithPhil.com has been flagged on Twitter, prohibiting users from posting messages containing links to the page.

...iStandWithPhil.com, run by the organization Faith Driven Consumer, has posted a petition demanding that A&E reinstate Robertson and issue a formal apology to his family and his fans. In four days, the petition has collected more than 195,000 signatures out of its goal of 200,000 since it was posted online Friday.

The Christian advocacy group complained Monday that Twitter has blocked users from tweeting about the petition drive. “This marks at least the third major shutdown of a pro-Phil Robertson social media account since the story broke days ago,” said the group in a statement, which did not list other groups it says have also had their tweets blocked by Twitter.

Faith Driven Consumer says it does not know why it is being blocked, as a diagnostic page says the site "has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days."

A Twitter spokesperson said the company does not comment on actions relating to a specific account or site.

Twitter generally does not act to block content until receiving a report from another user or group of users. That complaint is then reviewed by Twitter, who decides whether to take action. Normally, the blocked account holder receives an email notifying them of the action being taken.

The Leftists are so intolerant.

Duck Dynasty: Robertson Family Statement

After watching Thursday's Quackback Marathon, I saw the statement released by the Robertson family. I'm very happy with their decision about the future of Duck Dynasty. The show cannot go on without Phil.

Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

What has happened to our country? When did Christianity become a religion of hate? When did followers of Jesus become haters?

The attack on Phil Robertson, the chilling effect of punishment for expressing Christian beliefs, is something that should concern all Americans.

A&E really made a mistake by succumbing to the pressure from certain groups and suspending Phil. That knee-jerk response is proving to be disastrous for the cable network.

People from diverse walks of life, holding various beliefs, are rallying in support of Phil and the Robertson family. They are condemning A&E's actions.

The silent majority isn't staying silent anymore.

It's time to stop muzzling people for expressing their faith. Tolerance is not a one-way street.

We're not going to stand by as our liberty continues to be eroded by a select but loud few. We object to being punished for expressing one's Christian beliefs.

The free exercise of religion is a cherished American freedom.

I like that this controversy and the ensuing debate is happening as Christians approach their celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

It reminds me of just how important my rights, as spelled out in the Constitution, are. As an American, I cherish my freedom to worship. That freedom is protected. Our ancestors fought and died to preserve our liberty. Young men and women serve today, defending our way of life.

No political party, no special interest group, no cable network, no one can take away our freedom - one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

Hey! Don't tread on me.

Phil Robertson, Duck Dynasty - 'He Gone'

I suspected the remarks Phil Robertson made in his GQ interview were not going to be dismissed, unlike those hurled by Leftist darling Alec Baldwin so many, many times.

The star of Duck Dynasty, the Robertson patriarch, was "suspended indefinitely" by A&E for expressing his personal religious beliefs.

Here's Phil's statement on the controversy:

"I myself am a product of the '60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other."

Pope Francis said, "Who am I to judge?"

He was embraced by the Leftists.

So why is Phil Robertson attacked when he echoes the Pope's message, "Who am I to judge?"

Robertson is silenced.

Free speech?

Well, Phil isn't being tossed in jail, but "he gone" from the show. He wasn't cut the same slack that Hollywood Leftists often receive. Tracy Morgan's anti-gay rant was messy but it didn't destroy his career. Alec Baldwin repeatedly used anti-gay slurs but he kept his job on 30 Rock, as well as his commercial endorsements.

That's a troubling pattern. Some are quickly forgiven while others are reviled and punished immediately.

The Leftists are very selective when it comes to their praise of the words of Pope Francis. They conveniently ignore the vast majority of what he preaches.

The fact is there is extremely limited tolerance for expressing and defending traditional Christian values in this country.

I watch Duck Dynasty. I'm a fan. From what I've seen of Phil, he seems totally comfortable in his own skin. It's clear that he adores his wife. He loves his family and they love him. His happiness has nothing to do with material wealth and fame. It has nothing to do with the approval of the Left.

Phil doesn't need A&E.

Alec Baldwin Gets Pass, Paula Deen Gets Punished

TMZ isn't cutting Alec Baldwin any slack over his homophobic Twitter rant.

Alec Baldwin -- who puts Paula Deen to shame in the bigotry department -- again showed his true colors with a hate-filled tirade that targeted gays.

A British reporter wrote a story that Baldwin's wife was tweeting recipes and other things during James Gandolfini's funeral. The actor went nuts on twitter, claiming the story was false. Nothing wrong with that.

But then Baldwin played his go-to homophobic card -- he's done it before -- tweeting that the reporter was "a toxic little queen." Baldwin continued, "If (sic) put my foot up your f***ing ass, George Stark, but I'm sure you'd dig it too much."

Baldwin then called the reporter a "f***ing little bitch" several times and then just plain threatened, "I'm gonna f**k you up."

Does Baldwin forget that what he writes on Twitter is on the record for all the world to read?

TMZ's headline: "Alec Baldwin Hates Lots of People But REALLY Hates Gays."

I'm glad that Baldwin isn't being given a pass by the entertainment media.

He didn't just get angry and curse while defending his wife. He said extremely offensive and violent things. They're vulgar and totally unhinged, but revealing.

Baldwin's comments are gay slurs.

He attempted a CYA move, trying to claim that there was nothing homophobic about his tweets.

TMZ has his statement under the headline: "Alec Baldwin Still a Homophobe Now a Liar, Too!"

Alec Baldwin insists he doesn't hate gays ... just "queens" ... and that's just the beginning of the mind-numbingly stupid explanation he just released in the wake of his homophobic Twitter rant.

...Here's what Baldwin had to say:

"The idea of me calling this guy a 'queen' and that being something that people thought is homophobic ... a queen to me has a different meaning. It’s somebody who’s just above. It doesn’t have any necessarily sexual connotations. To me a queen ... I know women that act queeny, I know men that are straight that act queeny, and I know gay men that act queeny. It doesn’t have to be a definite sexual connotation, or a homophobic connotation. To me those are people who think the rules don’t apply to them."

Alec is full of crap ... and here's why: In the same Twitter rant in which he attacked the reporter, George Stark, Baldwin included the threat ... "If (sic) put my foot up your f***ing ass, George Stark, but I'm sure you'd dig it too much."

So let's do some math. Queen + enjoying a foot up your ass = homophobic slur.

Baldwin's excuse is stunningly lame.

Of course, his remarks were homophobic.

So is his career over?

Will he still get work in Hollywood? Will he show up on Saturday Night Live again?

I saw one of his Capital One ads air last night. When is the bank going to dump the raving homophobe Baldwin?

For days, Paula Deen has been tarred and feathered because of racially offensive things she said years ago. The Food Network  dropped her. She's lost endorsements and several stores, like Target, Walmart, Home Depot, and JCPenney, will no longer carry her products. Deen's apologies have not been accepted by her business partners. She's finished, though the public hasn't abandoned her. Understandably, there has been a backlash because of how severely she's being punished.

TMZ raises an interesting question: "Alec Baldwin's homophobic rant against a reporter makes us wonder ... why HE isn't getting slammed like Paula Deen? Sounds horrible to say, but is America more okay with verbal attacks on gays than Blacks?"

I think the forgiveness that Baldwin gets over and over again is related to his politics. He's a dyed-in-the-wool lib. His fellow Leftists won't turn against him. Don't expect to see Matt Lauer harassing him and bringing him to tears on Today as he begs the public to forgive him.

Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture for Media Research Center, told FOX411 he doubts Baldwin's endorsement deals would be impacted by his tweets.

"This is the kind of incident that shows the hypocrisy of the liberal media. Paula Deen says something bad decades ago and has her whole career destroyed," he said. "Alec Baldwin fills his career with embarrassing moments – saying awful things to his daughter, getting kicked off an airplane and now, the ultimate PC sin, anti-gay comments. And his career will continue unharmed."

Indeed this is not Baldwin's first tech-based tirade. He was thrown off an airplane in 2011 for refusing to turn his phone off while playing Words With Friends. And following a Feburary altercation with a newspaper photographer, Baldwin reportedly made racist remarks, calling him a "coon" and a "crackhead."

“He was saying some serious racist stuff,” New York Post photographer G.N. Miller said at the time. “He said some choice words about my mother, and he was telling people in the street that I’m a drug dealer."

Baldwin denied he made those statements.

Of course he did. He can get away with anything. Baldwin won't get the Paula Deen treatment.

I do think it's time to question why Capital One wants such a hate-filled, out of control embarrassment to be the bank's pitchman on TV. Time to question Capital One's decision to continue to employ him.

The fact is Baldwin's career is not in any danger. Baldwin is completely safe. And that's wrong.

Obama and Sexual Orientation Pandering

The White House put this quote from Obama on Twitter yesterday evening:

I was under the impression that was the case.

However, if we truly "judge people on the basis of their character and their performance and not their sexual orientation," then why are Obama and Michelle making such a big deal about Jason Collins' courage for announcing he's gay?

The politics and the pandering diminishes Obama. Michelle and her "We've got your back!" tweet is embarrassing. They continue to see division that doesn't exist among Americans.

The Leftists persist in labeling people and emphasizing traits other than character and performance. They yap about race and gender constantly.

To suggest that Collins' announcement and the consequences will be remotely equivalent to what Jackie Robinson endured is a disgrace. It's not even close.

Why are the Obamas and the Leftists so bent on taking us back 50 or 60 or more years?

Yup, Collins is gay. Whoop-dee-doo.

Gay Marriage, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution

Is gay marriage a constitutional matter for the Supreme Court to decide?



Should marriage be redefined by the courts, specifically the Supreme Court?

Mark Levin cites an AP story from earlier this month in which Justice Anthony Kennedy expressed his belief that the Supreme Court is deciding too many issues that should be decided by Congress.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy said Wednesday that congressional lawmakers need to maintain the nation’s balance of power by being able to compromise, expressing concerns that the high court is increasingly the venue for deciding politically charged issues such as gay marriage, health care and immigration.

Kennedy, a former Sacramento law school professor, was asked by reporters whether he thought the court was deciding too many issues that can be decided by Congress.

“I think it’s a serious problem. A democracy should not be dependent for its major decisions on what nine unelected people from a narrow legal background have to say,” Kennedy said. “And I think it’s of tremendous importance for our political system to show the rest of the world — and we have to show ourselves first — that democracy works because we can reach agreement on a principle basis.”

Levin shares his thoughts related to the Supreme Court's role in this case.

MARK LEVIN: Here's a quaint thought. You know, we do have amendment procedures in the United States Constitution. If the overwhelming majority of Americans through their state legislatures believe that the Constitution should actually be amended, not rewritten by this what I call this ongoing Constitutional Convention in Washington, but I mean, actually amended to define marriage as something more than a man and a woman, then why don't they try that?

If Congress believes, if two-thirds of the members of the House and the Senate really believe, they really believe this is a fundamental right, a liberty, then they ought to make their case to each other, because two-thirds of both bodies, the House and the Senate, can propose a constitutional amendment to the states and three-fourths can ratify.

I am tired of our Constitution being amended by the courts, by presidential fiat, by congressional statute. I'm sick and tired of it. You and me, we show fidelity to our Constitution. We talk about our Constitution. We talk about the processes, the history, and this, that, and the rest.

They don't give a damn on the Left. The ends justifies the means. That's it. And if they don't like the outcome of a vote, like on Proposition 8, then they claim it's a constitutional right, or as I have said over the weeks, a civil right. When people out there oppose what the Left is doing, they're said to be pushing wedge issues. When the Left pushes exactly the same issue from a different perspective, it's said to be a civil right.

Bottom line: Levin believes, "If the Supreme Court is faithful to its responsibilities, it will rule no federal jurisdiction, period. No federal jurisdiction. Period."

Interesting.

Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day

Americans are showing their support for the Bill of Rights and our basic freedoms by going to Chick-fil-A.

That has to really tick off the Leftists who believe in free speech only if it aligns with their own beliefs.

People across the country are flocking to Chick-fil-A today, not because of the fast-food chain's chicken sandwiches, but because of its CEO's vocal support of traditional marriage.

Nearly 600,000 supporters signed up to celebrate Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day today, which former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee created to counter a boycott launched by gay marriage activists last week after Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said he was "guilty as charged" for not supporting gay marriage.

"The goal is simple," Huckabee wrote on the Facebook page for the event. "Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1."

Courtney Clem, 22, strolled over to the Chick-fil-A in Crystal City, Va., to pick up lunch for her entire office and show her support. Clem said she wanted to eat at Chick-fil-A today not only because she supports traditional marriage but because she supports the First Amendment.

"We want to support their right to an opinion," Clem said. "I do support that opinion. And the right. Even if it was an opinion I disagreed with, I'd be here today."

This about free speech.

I'm glad the response has been so incredible.

Chick-fil-A's CEO has a right to his opinion.

The notion that he should be run out of business for adhering to his religious beliefs is chilling.

The Philadelphia City Council is considering a resolution to condemn the company for what councilman Jim Kenney called their "Anti-American attitude."

D.C. councilman Marion Barry tweeted that he does not support "hate chicken," Boston's Mayor Thomas Menino said there is "no place for your company" in his city and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said the restaurant's "values are not Chicago values."

The Chicago Republican Party is making a formal complaint against Emanuel today, alleging that the mayor has "broken civil rights laws pertaining to religious freedom and the First Amendment in denying Chick-fil-A a permit to operate its business in the City of Chicago."

This isn't about gay rights.

This is about our precious liberty.

I'm proud Americans are standing up for freedom.

This witch hunt, as witch hunts often do, has backfired.

Menino and Emanuel look like fools.

I'd like to see Obama eat at Chick-fil-A today, and show that he believes in the First Amendment.

Oh, that's right. He doesn't, especially when it comes to the free exercise of religion and oppressing Catholics.
