This should be an awkward meeting, given Gavin Newsom's idiotic efforts to "Trump proof" California, but it's not.
President Trump and Melania are all class.
He intends to help those suffering because of the fires and Newsom welcomes the assistance. He desperately needs assistance because he has been delinquent in managing the state.
For his part, Newsom was gracious, thanking President Trump for his help during COVID. It was a nice move considering the President usually refers to him as "Newscum."
Obviously, federal dollars (OUR tax dollars) are needed to help California recover. It's also reasonable to expect Newsom to do everything possible to prevent this devastation from happening again. It would have been dramatically better to remove brush without destroying tens of thousands of homes.
