Former FBI Director James Comey now believes that President Donald Trump was trying to influence his judgment about the Russia probe, a person familiar with his thinking says, but whether that influence amounts to obstruction of justice remains an open question.

"You have to have intent in order to obstruct justice in the criminal sense," the source said, adding that "intent is hard to prove."

Comey will testify publicly before the Senate intelligence committee after Memorial Day, the panel's leaders announced Friday.

The central question at that blockbuster hearing will be whether Comey believed the President was trying to interfere with his investigation.

Democrats Praise Mothers of the Movement, Diss Law Enforcement

The Democrats had the audacity to trot out and honor mothers of children killed in police shootings.

Dontre Hamilton's mother was among those honored.




The Mothers of the Movement shared their stories.

During a convention marked by rabid dissent, protests and walkouts, there was one thing Tuesday on which Bernie Sanders supporters and Hillary Clinton supporters could agree: Black Lives Matter.

In three emotional speeches Tuesday night, black mothers who had lost their sons to violence endorsed Hillary Clinton as the candidate they thought would be most likely to soothe the racial divisions that contributed to the deaths of their children. The respect for their obvious anguish was one of the first moments of unity in a convention that has been otherwise marked by dissent.

The grieving mothers, known as Mothers of the Movement, have previously met with Clinton and appeared in an ad for her campaign. But their primetime appearance at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday night was at once a powerful gesture to the African-American community and a repudiation of a Republican party that seems increasingly hostile to the Black Lives Matter movement.

...For black delegates, the inclusion of the Mothers was a powerful repudiation of the hostile racial atmosphere they perceive in the Republican party. “Not to have that voice here would be almost ignoring it,” says Mia L. Jones, a Democratic State Representative and delegate from Florida. “She wanted us to know she’s not ignoring it.”

“It shows me that the young men who have died in my community, that there’s a spotlight placed on their deaths, and values placed on their lives,” she added.

The gesture also helped the humanize Clinton in the eyes of many delegates. “It’s not just Hillary the candidate, it’s Hillary the mom, Hillary the wife, Hillary the person,” says LaKeshia Myers, a delegate from Wisconsin. Myers says that when Hillary visited Milwaukee, she asked to meet with the parents of Dontre Hamilton, another slain black man, “just so she could find out how they’re doing.”

This TIME story leaves out the facts of the Dontre Hamilton case.

Without a doubt, the loss of his life was tragic. However, the facts are brushed aside to support the anti-police movement.

Hillary visited Hamilton's parents. Did she visit law enforcement officers to find out how they're doing?

Of course, Black Lives Matter. The problem is not all Democrats in the hall are comfortable with the idea that Blue Lives Matter.

The convention has two more days.

When will the widows of the officers slain in Dallas and Baton Rouge be honored?

Will the mothers of the Benghazi dead be at the convention?

Philadelphia Police Union Statement:

Philadelphia's police union is condemning Hillary Clinton for allowing relatives of people killed by police to speak at the Democratic National Convention without giving equal time to families of fallen officers.

John McNesby, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 5, said the union is insulted by the decision to exclude families of officers killed in the line of duty.

"It is sad that to win an election Mrs. Clinton must pander to the interests of people who do not know all the facts, while the men and women they seek to destroy are outside protecting the political institutions of this country," he wrote in Wednesday's statement.

Nesby ends by saying: "Mrs. Clinton, you should be ashamed of yourself if that is possible."

Her message was "I'm a woman."

True, history was made. Unfortunately, the first woman to be the nominee of a major political party is incompetent, untrustworthy, hopelessly corrupt, and an unrepentant liar.

Woman in the hall, supporters, were shown crying tears of joy.

She's a woman. Really, what difference, at this point, does it make?

I'm supposed to be impressed by her gender and the fact that people voted for a woman to be president?

I'm not.

Being female doesn't make her a desirable candidate. Her gender does nothing to alter the reality of all the other stuff that makes her unfit.

We know her role in the Benghazi cover-up. We know she lied. We know she tried to skirt accountability and put national security at risk with her private server. We know she lied. We know the election was rigged. We know the DNC worked to undermine Bernie Sanders. We know the dirty tricks, though I'm sure the dirtiest truths haven't been revealed yet.

It's too bad that a truly historic moment is nothing to celebrate because of the undeniable Clinton/Democrat sleaze.



The optics were very weird, the leader in the red jacket addressing the cheering masses.

There was an evil dictator vibe to the giant Hillary speaking from the screen.

I've chosen not to watch the Democratic Convention.

I flipped over during a commercial break to catch a minute or two of Bernie Sanders on Monday. I saw Bill Clinton wagging his finger for about the same amount of time on Tuesday.

I probably will watch Hillary give her acceptance speech, but any other coverage I'll watch on YouTube.

I heard so much about Paul Simon's performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" that I had to see it for myself.

Two knife-wielding attackers who had pledged allegiance to ISIS, shouting "Allahu Akbar," slit the throat of an 85-year-old priest and critically wounded at least one other person during a Tuesday morning terror attack on a Catholic church near the Normandy city of Rouen, officials said.

The terrorists, who were later shot and killed by police, forced priest Jacques Hamel to kneel before they slaughtered him, and the Islamist attackers captured the bloody episode on film, according to a nun who escaped the assault.

"They forced him to his knees. He wanted to defend himself. And that's when the tragedy happened," said the nun, identified as Sister Danielle.

"They recorded themselves. They did a sort of sermon around the altar, in Arabic. It's a horror," she told BFM television.

Make no mistake, this was an attack on the Catholic Church.

What Obama calls the "JV Team" is doing a lot of damage and claiming victim after victim. His response? Utterly inadequate.

John Kerry equates air conditioners with ISIS when it comes to the threat posed to life.

"Yesterday, I met in Washington with 45 nations — defense ministers and foreign ministers — as we were working together on the challenge of [the Islamic State], and terrorism," he said. "It's hard for some people to grasp it, but what we — you — are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself."

The Democrats delivered 61 speeches at their convention yesterday. There wasn't a single mention of ISIS.

Obviously, Obama, Hillary, and the Democrats cannot be trusted to handle the ISIS threat and protect us.

They can't be bothered with things like Islamists storming a Catholic church during Mass and slaughtering the priest.

JIMMY FALLON: Tonight was the start of the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia, where today the temperature was over 100 degrees -- as if Hillary Clinton needed another reason to sweat. Sweat through two pantsuits!

It was over 100 degrees on the first day of the Democratic Convention. In fact, it was so hot Hillary met with some Bernie supporters just for the chilly reception.

And this DNC scandal just keeps getting worse. Have you heard the latest now? It turns out that they rigged it so Hillary would catch all the Pokemon. There's no way a Snorlax was in her living room. That just doesn't happen.

That's the big story. There were almost 20,000 Democratic Party emails leaked over the weekend. Actually, people were even more shocked to find out that there 20,000 emails Hillary hadn't deleted yet.
