In a bombshell revelation, Special Prosecutor John Durham revealed Tuesday in court filings that the FBI paid a Russian businessman as a confidential human source in the investigation of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign even though it had prior concerns that businessman was tied to Moscow's intelligence services.

Durham persuaded the federal judge in the upcoming trial of Igor Danchenko to unseal a motion revealing that Danchenko, the primary source of the now-discredited Steele dossier, was paid by the FBI as a confidential human source for more than three years until the fall of 2020 when he was terminated for lying to agents.

Danchenko is charged with five counts of lying to the bureau during that relationship and faces trial next month in federal court in the Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C.

This is an FBI scandal through and through.

There must be accountability for the bureau's corruption and dirt. Those responsible for the yearslong orchestrated efforts to derail the duly elected president must pay for their attempted coup.

The Durham investigation has been a terrible frustration for many. It has been so slow. However, if that is because Durham will eventually detail that the CRIME of the Russia Collusion scandal goes all the way to the top, to Obama himself, it's worth it.

This is one of the biggest scandals in the history of the United States. Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democrats never thought Donald Trump would win in 2016. They thought they were untouchable. They believed they could abuse their power and lie to the American people with impunity. So they did.

Before the Russia Collusion scandal was exposed, in early 2017, I gave Obama and the Democrats far too much credit. I didn't think they would be this dirty. I thought they had some decency, some sense of honor and responsibility to the American people. I was dead wrong.

Unlike Watergate, I don't think the coup scandal cover-up is worse than the crimes themselves. Nonetheless, the cover-up is becoming more and more apparent and despicable.
