Threatening to kill someone is not protected by the First Amendment. That sort of speech is not protected.
Moreover, as Sen. Tim Scott says, "Your First Amendment rights do not include a right to a job!"
Employers can determine whether or not they want to employ individuals making vile comments in a public forum, on a social media platform. Not every business or institution wants to employ people cheering assassination and calling for more people to be put to death.

I have no doubt that Nikki Haley sincerely misses her husband. I have no doubt that she sheds tears because he's away from her, serving our country in a dangerous part of the world.
However, I question the sincerity of crying during the big speech that she hyped. She wanted everyone to see that speech.
I don't think the tears worked at all. Were they a desperate bid for votes? Were they the result of her sheer emotional exhaustion?
Either way, it wasn't presidential.
