Lena Taylor's New Direction

Lena Taylor will challenge Scott Walker in the race for Milwaukee County Executive.

State Senator Lena Taylor today filed the paperwork required to run for Milwaukee County Executive in next spring’s critical elections, vowing to “restore balance, integrity, and fiscal accountability for the Milwaukee residents who depend on public service — and the taxpayers who foot the bill.”

“It’s time for a higher degree of leadership and a new direction,” Senator Taylor said. “I will work to get our fair share of funding from Madison to improve our parks, make our transportation system more effective, and ease the burden on local taxpayers.”

Saying she is gratified by the overwhelming encouragement to run and expressions of support received from across the community, Senator Taylor said she will put her experience to work for county taxpayers.

New direction?

Ease the burden on local taxpayers?

Lena Taylor?

I question Taylor's definition of "ease" and "burden" and "local taxpayers."

In her world, are the "local taxpayers" she wants to unburden the people paying only sales tax?

What's her plan for property owners?

Will she ease their burden?

How about business owners? Will Taylor put them at ease?

Taylor is about HIGHER taxes.

This "ease the burden" talk is pure deception.

...Senator Taylor said people have lost trust in her opponent over the past four years and that a recent survey found two-thirds of local residents think Milwaukee County government is on the wrong track.

“The incumbent said he would clean up the pension scandal and set the highest ethical standards,” Senator Taylor said. “But he betrayed those promises. We can do a lot better.”

Taylor's press release is bizarre.

HEY, LENA! Your "opponent," the "incumbent," is Scott Walker.

Is Taylor afraid to mention his name?

Really weird.

Bottom line: A vote for Lena Taylor as County Exec is a vote for a new direction. Liberals simply cannot have Milwaukee County in the hands of a conservative holding the line on taxes. Enter Lena Taylor to put Milwaukee County on a road paved with tax hikes, in the fast lane to tax hell.
