Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle won't be parting with any of the money he raised at his Sixth Annual Golf Outing.
From the Appleton Post-Cresent:
Gov. Jim Doyle plans to keep the campaign money raised last week during a golf outing, despite pressure from Republicans to donate it to flood victims.
Doyle has been criticized by Republicans and conservative radio personalities in the past week for participating in his annual campaign fundraiser June 10 at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison. On the same day, residents were struggling with record flooding from the aftermath of heavy downpours in weekend storms that affected much of southern Wisconsin.
Mike Edmondson, Doyle's campaign finance director, said Wednesday that Doyle will keep the money raised in the event, which is Doyle's biggest fundraiser. The total amount, he said, will be disclosed in the next campaign finance report due in July. Doyle has not announced that he is seeking a third term.
Did anyone really think that Doyle would hand over money he raised for himself to help flood victims in the state?
Remember, we're talking about Jim Doyle.
