I've said already that the anti-John McCain "Not Alex" ad from AFSCME and MoveOn really bugs me.
There's another ad running constantly on Wisconsin TV that I find annoying. It comes directly from Barack Obama's campaign, "The Country I Love."
There's something missing in this ad.
No, it's not Obama's flag pin. He's wearing that.
There's something else missing...
Black people. I don't see black people. It's like watching an episode of Friends.
The ad is Obama in a sea of white people. Everywhere he goes -- white people. Are we to assume that the country Obama loves only includes whites?
No. We can assume, however, that the Obama campaign is obsessed with race and they view Americans as racist, at least to some extent.
It's no accident that the ad is purged of people of color for the most part. It doesn't present an accurate picture of America, but Obama wants to create an image that he believes will appeal to white voters -- a white America.
Obama seems to be saying to whites, "Hey, I'm like you." Black? Who's black? Of course, when he's addressing a largely black audience, Obama loses his whiteness.
Personally, I find that rather offensive. It's racial pandering.
It appears that this is the Obama campaign's strategy for victory in November: Race colors everything.
Obama has shown that he can and will be a chameleon to win. It's unfortunate that he believes such methods are necessary and he's willing to employ them.
Obama's motto: It's race, stupid.
