Jim Doyle Addresses the DNC

UPDATE: Jim Doyle makes David Letterman's Top 10 List
______________

Here's the video of Gov. Jim Doyle's speech to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

He's not exactly a dynamic speaker. He has both style and substance issues.

Doyle said, "My family, I think, was among the earliest to endorse Barack Obama. I'd say it happened about 5 minutes into the keynote speech he delivered 4 years ago."

Really?

Five minutes into Obama's speech at the convention in 2004, Doyle's family thought he should be the Dems' nominee for president.

Obama wasn't even a U.S. senator at the time, and Doyle's family thought he should be president. Obviously, the Doyle clan isn't big on experience.

Cheap shot at the Doyle family don't you think?

If I had adopted children who were black and I sat with them while watching a black man give an inspirational keynote address on one of the biggest political stages, I would imagine there would be some pride, inspiration, and hope in the room.

In fact, I was sitting with friends in 2004 watching the speech and we all were moved by Obama's style and message. I think I was the one who commented that he would probably run for President some day.

The bad news and the bad news:

Doyle gets A G USA spot to continue his criminal corruption activities on a grand scale.

Wisconsin gets the Socialist LtGov.

No, it's not a cheap shot at Doyle's family.

Doyle's statement was lame.

When I saw Obama's address 4 years ago, I was very impressed. I remember it being big on personal responsibility. Of course, his speech belied his liberalism and his extremism.

At the time, I thought Obama had potential for a long career as a Dem politician, but 5 MINUTES INTO HIS SPEECH I certainly didn't think he'd be the 2008 Dem nominee. He wasn't even a U.S. senator yet! No way would he be ready in 2008!

By the way, what's with the racial stuff? Can't you look beyond skin color? I was watching a politician speak that night, not a black man.

I agree, Dad29, that Doyle expects a place in an Obama administration.

In a way, Lawton taking over as governor briefly might help the Republicans win back the office in 2010.

All politics aside, Doyle should neither been seen or heard. Press releases only.
