October 5: Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton

UPDATE: October 5, 2008
________________

October 5, 2008 is the day Joe Biden will step down as the vice presidential candidate and be replaced by Hillary Clinton. Biden will bow out because of "health reasons."

That's the rumor.

There are people who believe this is going to happen.

I am not among them.

The vice presidential debate is set for October 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.

If the Democrats were planning to stage this VP candidate mulligan, I don't think they would plan it for after the debate. Of course, maybe they think Sarah Palin would easily win in a showdown with Hillary and the Dems don't want them on the same stage. That could be the reason for waiting until October 5.

Doesn't that sound stupid? The whole thing is ridiculous.

Biden is not going to step aside. He's on the ticket. Hillary is not going to take his place. No way.

So we have six more weeks of Joe Biden on the campaign trail. Six more weeks of side-splitting Bidenisms.

Biden is really on a roll.

He condemns the Barack Obama-approved ad mocking John McCain as old, out of touch, and computer illiterate. He calls it "terrible."

Oops! Never mind.

Biden goes off on clean coal, something championed by Obama.

Ben Smith writes:

Some great rope line video from Joe Biden's recent Ohio swing, where he was asked by an anti-pollution campaigner about clean coal -- a controversial approach in Democratic circles for which Obama has voiced support, particularly during the Kentucky primary.

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

Transcript
BIDEN: We're not supporting clean coal! Guess what? China's building two every week, two dirty coal plants. And it's polluting the United States! It's causing people to die! The first guy to introduce a global warming bill was me, 22 years ago. The first guy to support solar energy is me, 26 years ago. Came out of Delaware. But guess what? China's going to burn 300 years of bad coal, once we figure out how to clean their coal up because it's going to ruin your lungs and there's nothing we can do about it. No coal plants here in America, build 'em, if they're going to build them over there, make 'em clean, because they're killing you!

Once again, Biden's not on the same page as Obama. Obama supports clean coal. Oops!

Then there's Biden's American history lapse in an interview with Katie Couric.

Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says today's leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt's response to a financial crisis.

Transcript
BIDEN: Part of what a leader does is to instill confidence, to demonstrate that he or she knows what they're talking about and communicates to people. If you listen to me and follow what I'm suggesting, we can fix this. Stock market crash, Franklin Roosevelt got on television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed, he said, "Look, here's what happened."

Good grief.

Is this guy for real?

Doesn't he know that FDR wasn't president in 1929, and he certainly didn't get on TV to talk to Americans about the crisis?

It's funny, but is it?

I wonder if Joe Biden troubles Matt Damon. Since Damon is very politically engaged, this must be extremely disturbing for him.

I think Damon should make a statement about how absurd it is that this guy could be a heartbeat away from the presidency. After all, Biden's only a senator of a really, really small state. It's like a really bad Disney movie. And it's like he's facing down Vladimir Putin and using the stupid stuff he never learned in law school or at a hockey rink or wherever. It's absurd.

Damon should say he really needs to know if Biden thinks that FDR was president in 1929 and came on TV to address the nation when the market crashed. Because Biden's going to have the nuclear codes.

Come on, Matt. Say something. America needs to know what you think about Joe Biden, the Gaffe Man.

If John McCain said the sort of stuff that Biden's been saying, the media and Hollywood goofs would be all over it. They'd say he has dementia.

What's Biden's excuse? Really. What's with him?

If Sarah Palin said the sort of stuff that Biden's been saying, the media and Hollywood goofs would make it the lead story. They'd say such stupidity proves that she's unqualified to be the president.

What's Biden's excuse?

The libs apply a double standard -- AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.

Mary, It would certainly appear that Biden is intentionally saying things that hurt Obama's campaign, and if so, why would he?

It lends credence to the rumor that Biden will be asked to step aside so Obama can replace him with Hillary.

There are several reasons this strategy won't work, but I'll start with the most obvious:

1. Hillary won't take a back seat to this man. No way, no how.

2. Even Obama isn't dumb enough to think that won't make him look fallible, and as such, less Godlike. He depends on his followers to see him as the Savoir of all mankind to propel him into the Oval office.

3. Obama is much too arrogant to ever admit he made a mistake.

I don't see it happening. If it somehow does, it seals Obama's loss in November.

Oh. There is one reason Hillary might accept the nomination as Vice Presidential candidate:

The very real possibility that it will place her in a great position to off Obama and take over the Presidency.

I don't put anything past her.

And yet, you still ignore that Palin made Rape victims pay for the test kit.
How can you get behind that idea?

Biden is such a Gaffe Man that it may be hard to believe it's not an act, but it isn't.

This is Biden.

I agree with you, Mark. Such a move would make Obama look terrible.

About the rape kits--

Educate yourself.

And yet, you, "anonymous," still ignore that Obama wanted to keep medical care from the helpless infant survivors of botched abortions, leaving them to die.

How can you get behind that idea?

That sort of comment bugs me, Tim.

I have no problem at all when someone leaves a link to a blog post. I do have a problem when there's no commentary that accompanies it.

It's spam. Please leave a comment. If you prefer to not do so, I'll delete your post.

Thanks!

Mary,Spam is a product that is produced here in Minnesota was used to feed the troops in WWII my blog if you check it out is from very reliable sources. Lots of it covers the events of the RNC All those FATCATS that were fearful of peace protesters so they spent 50 million to have the thugs bully the media of the people.

So, do you think Biden will step aside and Hillary will step in?

Let's see if what you are saying about Joe Biden is fact or hopeful spin. Thursday is just one day away. Hillary and Sarah would certainly be a strong show of how powerful a woman Hillary is. I can see Hillary returning to the Senate and moving forward with health care reform that she attempted to promote as first lady when the good old boys laugh at her.

It never ceases to amaze me just how brain washed liberals and their followers seem to be these days.

Clearly if you are a thinker you tend to be a conservative or libertarian but if you live in emotional never never land you don't think with the correct organ of the body and you become a liberal.

People on both sides follow blindly. They don't think for themselves.

It's not just in politics. Rebellion is often really conformity.

Americans supposedly prize individualism and yet there are so many lemmings.
