Oprah Winfrey and Sarah Palin

Dumbest question of the week: "Is Oprah Winfrey biased?"

Most obvious answer of the week: OF COURSE OPRAH WINFREY IS BIASED.

When she declared her support for Barack Obama shortly before the primary and caucus season began, she declared her bias.

Oprah's statement regarding Sarah Palin:

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.” – Oprah Winfrey, September 5, 2008

Oprah is in campaign mode right now.

She's not being fair and balanced. She made that decision long ago, in 2007.

Her viewers want her to interview Sarah Palin, but that conflicts with her agenda.

When she decided to throw her weight behind Barack Obama, she decided that she would not give his opponents a forum that might serve to benefit them.

Thus, no Sarah Palin interview for you.

If Oprah was thinking of her viewers and ratings and conducting what she admits would be a "fantastic interview," she would have Sarah Palin on her show as a guest as soon as possible.

But her show is taking a back seat to Obama's campaign. Her allegiance to her viewers is not as strong as her allegiance to Obama.

That's her right.

She has a right to be biased. She has a daytime talk show. She's not acting in the role of a journalist, reporting hard news.

Anyway, she doesn't have to listen to the little people. She's Oprah.

Whatever Oprah wants, Oprah gets... with the possible exception of Obama in the White House.

and if she had Obama on the show you would be foaming at the mouth about how she was unfairly giving time to him.

She is not interviewing any of the political candidates.

Lastly, this is a moot point anyway seeing as how Palin isn't allowed to give interviews.

Is my post really that difficult to understand?

I'm not bitching about her decision.

She's campaigning for Obama. It's no secret.

She's not having Palin on her show. That's her prerogative.

She's biased. She doesn't want to give an opponent of Obama's a forum.

So what? Being biased isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is what it is.

Oprah apparently isn't bright enough to realize that she's being used by Obama and has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

The all-powerful billionaire Oprah has nothing to lose.
