The Democrats are truly losing it.
Listen to Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn), on the House floor:
COHEN: I submit to you, Mr. Speaker, that the parties have differences, but if you want change, you want the Democratic Party. Uh... Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, who our minister prayed about. Uh... Pontius Pilate was a governor. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
UNBELIEVABLE.
I think someone needs to stage an intervention for the Democrats. They're destroying themselves.

Disgusting comment and grossly inappropriate from the house of the floor
Cohen isn't alone. Donna Brazile did the same.
The comparison appeared on Daily Kos the day after Palin gave her convention speech.

So apparently Republicans hate community organizers. A reader sends me a pithy response:
Jesus was a community organizer and Pontius Pilate was a governor.
Sweetness and Light has more.
No doubt, the talking point was disseminated via one of the Dems' conference calls with the minions.
Here are a few other "community organizers" I can remember from the history of the XX century: Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, Lenin
All of these XX century organizers sure did deliver on the promise of change!
I guess it all depends on what the meaning of "community organizer" is, and "change," and "is."
Republicans aren't allowed to call Barack Obama a community organizer. According to NY Governor David Patterson, the repeated use of the words "community organizer" is Republican code for "black"

That's right.
After Paterson said it, Chris Matthews echoed the same thing.
