McCain, Palin, and Leno

On Tuesday, when John McCain was Jay Leno's guest on The Tonight Show, McCain did not strongly defend his running mate, Sarah Palin.

I wrote that McCain should have stood up for Palin. He had the chance, but he didn't.

I'm not the only one put off by McCain's failure to denounce his aides for the horrible personal attacks against Palin.

Michelle Malkin was really ticked.

Now McCain did say that he was proud of Palin. He noted how much she inspired people and energized conservatives. McCain is giving her credit for breathing some life into his campaign.

Still, he really should have condemned the actions of his aides as well as anyone else engaging in the sadistic bashing of Palin. I think McCain owes Palin far more support than he gave her on The Tonight Show.
