Meghan McCain: Mamdani and His Wife Are 'Both Vile'

John McCain Filmed a Political Ad at Arlington

Jimmy McCain, son of John McCain, claims to be so horrified by President Trump's visit to Arlington National Cemetery to mark the anniversary of the attack on Abbey Gate that he switched parties and will vote for Kamala Harris.

President Trump was invited by the Gold Star families. Biden and Harris were also invited, but they didn't even bother to decline. They just didn't show up.

Jimmy McCain just couldn't permit the outrage of President Trump being at Arlington at the request of the families of the fallen to stand.

Given that his father filmed a political ad at Arlington, it seems a bit strange for Jimmy to take such offense.

Kamala Harris Is Weird

Of course, Democrats/Marxists/Leftists want to portray J.D. Vance in a negative light. They turn on their political enemies - John McCain, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump. Their "J.D. Vance is weird" campaign is childish and goofy junior high stuff.

I don't want to focus on such silliness. I want to focus on policies and support candidates that will help Americans, especially the forgotten men and women of the country.

I don't care what they say about J.D. Vance. I don't think he's weird.

I sure as hell don't care what Trey Gowdy says about him. I don't care what Gowdy has to say about anyone or anything.

Ben Shapiro Lecture - Protesters Chant, 'John McCain's Dead'

Charming!

Emily Jashinsky writes:
Students put on a shameful display Tuesday at Ohio State University, where conservative commentator Ben Shapiro appeared as part of his campus lecture tour. Leftist protesters who gathered outside the doors to the venue led chants of “Reagan’s dead” and “John McCain’s dead” while Shapiro attempted to deliver his remarks.

Video provided to The Federalist by Young America’s Foundation (in full disclosure, I’m on YAF’s board of directors) captured the pathetic demonstration. According to YAF, the national sponsor of Shapiro’s tour, protesters also started to chant “Bush Senior’s dead” before realizing they were mistaken.

The Leftists are the ones attempting to stifle free speech, threatening our rights.

Bill Penzey Attacks Republican Party

Bill Penzey continues to wage war on the Republican Party.

The focus of his Labor Day email was not spices or the products he sells. It was politics.

Penzey wrote:

And please take notice of the way America this weekend took notice of the life of Senator John McCain. As the reality of what the Republican Party has become gets exposed through our court system in the coming months, there will be the question of can the party even survive and should it even survive?

In the months to come it will become clear that all those elected leaders who supported, enabled and obstructed for this administration have to go. Some of them to jail. But what then? The Party’s future’s uncertain, but in its past there is a roadmap to a place where it was possible to be conservative without working hand in hand with our nation’s adversaries to undermine America’s values.

Today the Republican Party is undeniably the party of racism, environmental destruction, and of taking health care from those in need, all to funnel the nation’s wealth to the party’s already wealthy benefactors. What actually caused the Republican Party to rise up were values the very opposite of those it exhibits today.

There once was Abraham Lincoln fighting for the Republican Party’s founding principle that slavery was an abomination. There once was Teddy Roosevelt fighting to make environmental conservation the bedrock of this nation. And, too, there once was John McCain who, among his many battles, successfully fought to make the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) the law of the land.

From now until November 6, we all must do all we can to save our country from what the Republican Party has become. But come November 7 the struggle will still be far from over. Unraveling what unlimited political spending has done to our country is the battle of our time. As much as 11.6.18 must be our main focus, we are Cooks, we have proven we can multitask.

As we all sit down to dinner tonight it’s time again to start thinking of the way forward. As their Ronald Reagan said in his farewell address: “Let me offer lesson number one about America: All great change in America begins at the dinner table.” It is time again for Great Change.

Thanks for your support,

Bill

"Their Ronald Reagan"?

Penzey declares, "Today the Republican Party is undeniably the party of racism, environmental destruction, and of taking health care from those in need, all to funnel the nation’s wealth to the party’s already wealthy benefactors."

John McCain's Funeral

I watched some of John McCain's funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday morning.

I came in when Joe Lieberman was speaking, so I missed Meghan McCain's remarks.

I got lucky.

Personally, I don't care for a funeral masquerading as a political rally.

Perhaps John McCain wanted his funeral to be a televised forum to attack President Trump. I hope that was his wish because that's what he got.

I think it would have been better to honor John McCain and celebrate his life without all the bitterness and anger. Trump should not have been the focus. It's unfortunate that rather than honoring McCain the service was used as an opportunity to belittle Trump. Of course, some moments were beautiful, but sadly those were lost amid the classless attacks on Trump. There was a disturbing lack of civility.

Why make Trump the focus?

I don't understand why John McCain and his family would want the funeral to go in that direction, but clearly they intended it to go that way.

After a week of media obsession over slights and gibes and hating on Trump and Sarah Palin, it's over.

John McCain will be buried today at the U.S. Naval Academy.

May he rest in peace.

Sarah Palin Not Invited to McCain's Funeral Service

From The Hill:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has reportedly not been invited to attend funeral services for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), her onetime running mate.

NBC News reported Wednesday that Palin had not been invited. A source within the Palin family told NBC News that “out of respect to Senator McCain and his family we have nothing to add at this point.”
Sarah Palin and her family are handling the matter with a great deal of grace.

I can't think of this sort of bitterness surrounding the funeral of any other public figure.

Ir's very unfortunate that the service to honor John McCain's life is being used as a weapon to hurt others.

Democrats and John McCain

From LifeZette:
Democrats including former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are falling all over themselves to heap praise on McCain, who died Saturday.

But look how differently these same Democrats talked about McCain not that long ago.

...During one of their debates, Obama said, “John, you are absolutely right, presidents have to be prudent about what they say. But coming from you, who in the past have threatened extinction for North Korea and sung songs about bombing Iran, I don’t know how credible that is.”

But accusing McCain of being a reckless bomber was just one of the many insults Obama hurled at his Republican opponent. There was, according to Obama, the McCain disconnected from the pain of real Americans: “I don’t believe that Sen. McCain doesn’t care what’s going on in the lives of Americans — I just think he doesn’t know.”

And there was the selfish McCain catering to heartless corporations that shipped American jobs overseas. Obama, by contrast, promised that “Unlike John McCain, I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that ship our jobs overseas, and I will start giving them to companies that create good jobs right here in America.”

Not only was McCain a tool of the Fortune 500, Obama insisted, he was also slavishly loyal to President George W. Bush: “The record’s clear: John McCain has voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time. Sen. McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush was right more than 90 percent of the time?”

And worst of all, according to Obama, McCain had nothing but smears for Democrats: “Sen. McCain and his operatives are gambling that they can distract you with smears rather than talk to you about substance. They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up. That’s what you do when you’re out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time.”
Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi are also on the record attacking John McCain.

Bill Penzey Exploits John McCain

How low will Bill Penzey go?

He exploits the death of John McCain to sell spices.

That's low.

Here's Penzey's email from yesterday:

To celebrate the way our times changed with last week’s outbreak of legal-based reality, through today we are giving away two 1/4-cup jars of our steadfast, rock solid, and very tasty French Thyme. A combined $5.90 value, the two 1/4-cup jars, one to keep, one to share are yours flat-out free if you can get to one of our stores today. Online at penzeys.com they are also free, but standard shipping and handling charges will apply. Starting Monday we will continue the two 1/4-cup offer through the following Monday, but the flat-out free will become free with $5 spending. If you’re on a budget, now’s the time to get your Thyme.

Today is also your last chance for both regularly $3.69 Ancho and regularly $4.29 Lemon Pepper for just $2! Chili season is right around the corner and Ancho is the heart of that and so many Texas, Mexican, and Southwest dishes. Lemon Pepper is a treat and may be our most at home blend wherever it goes. Fish, eggs, vegetables, salads, pretty much everything tastes better with a few shakes. Lemon Pepper is a cross-generational classic for good reason.

To get your two free Thymes, just bring in this email or the coupon above to one of our stores. Online at penzeys.com, just enter 34099C into the apply code box at checkout. No need to place the Thyme in your basket, the code will do that for you and for free. In our stores or online, there’s no codes or coupons needed for the $2 Ancho and Lemon Pepper, these offers are automatic for everyone.

In yesterday’s email I wrote: “In the last couple years we’ve all witnessed with heartbreak the destruction the Republican/Fox News/Russian propaganda has brought to the lives of too many people close to us. It’s been hard watching conservative friends manipulated by fear and anger to turn against their own decency.” One conservative that was in no way turned was John McCain. His principled stance against the corruption of the current President will be forever remembered in America’s history as one of the amazing acts of patriotism that has always made this country great.

John McCain was a hero not for the events that happened to him in his life, but for the way he responded to those events. We all like to imagine ourselves as being capable of turning the other cheek, but the reality is that those who are tortured become the torturers. Not John McCain. He fought the all too human urge for revenge and instead became a powerful voice for decency. And again after losing his 2000 bid for the presidency to a racist attack against his family, his refusal to stoke the flames of racism in 2008 in his campaign against Barack Obama showed so much of the man he was. Heroes in any party of politics are few and far between. We could sure use some conservative ones like John McCain right now.

There is a long way to go to set things right in this country. But as the events of last week show, the National Enquirer isn’t going to save this presidency now. The courts and the impeachment process will expose everything the modern Republican Party has become, and after that it will be hard for the party to continue on. At some point we all need to wake up to the fact that what Russia and Fox News have been attacking is not America’s liberalism. Look at any poll or any recent special election and you will see our liberal values are surging. What these forces have been so effective at virtually eliminating from our politics are our conservative values, the very values John McCain spent so much of his life upholding.

Though we are in for tough times, these times won’t last forever. In what comes next will be the opportunity for a new American conservatism for modern times to emerge. Imagine a conservatism that believes in conservation, and that leads in America’s historic fight for equality. A conservatism that knows capitalism only works when the playing field is even for all. And most importantly, a conservatism that demands the end to profiting off damaging the public good, while expecting the tax payers to pick up the cost of cleaning up. All this is possible, but only if we are willing to work towards it.

Now is not the time to get ahead of ourselves. As Cooks we know how to overcome all the little obstacles that stand in the way of bringing happiness to the table. Now is the time to focus those very same skills on helping to overcome all the little obstacles that hold back those around us from voting come November 6. Together we can make the very difference needed now.

Still, as Cooks we also have proven our ability to multitask. As we work towards November 6, let’s start imagining what the new modern American conservatism to come could be. Please remember John McCain in this, not just for the values he stood for, but in the incredible strength with which he stood for them. Going forward we will need many-many more women and men with as much of that strength as possible. As Cooks it’s up to us to build them.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Bill

Impeachment. Russia. FOX News. The modern Republican Party.

Good grief.

McCain Hates Trump

This is very unfortunate.

John McCain is making it known that he doesn't want President Trump to attend his funeral. He chooses Vice President Mike Pence to attend.

From NBC News:

People close to Sen. John McCain have told the White House that the ailing Arizona Republican does not want President Donald Trump to attend his funeral and would like Vice President Mike Pence to come instead, a source close to McCain confirmed to NBC News.

Wow. So Trump did't make the list.

Why would "people close to Sen. John McCain" want this bit of information out?

It certainly doesn't speak well for McCain. Clinging to such bitterness is not admirable.

McCain's "people" should have kept the request, disturbing as it is, quiet.

Couldn't McCain's wish have been granted without making him look so childish and resentful?

I'm sad to say that this is tarnishing McCain's legacy.

I really don't know why Leftists and Never Trumpers are relishing McCain's snub. It hurts McCain far more than it hurts Trump.

I'm hoping McCain's "people" retract this story. I don't like thinking McCain really wants to go out like this, with such a hardened heart.

God bless Sen. McCain and his family. May he find the peace that he's lacking.
