In Vanity Fair's August 2009 issue, Todd Purdum trashes Sarah Palin in a lengthy hit piece.
Brent Baker, NewsBusters, has comments from Bret Baier calling out Purdum for his Palin Derangement Syndrome.
Purdum quotes an anonymous friend of presidential nominee John McCain as referring to Palin as quote, "little shop of horrors."
He writes that on the campaign trail aides, quote, "worried about her mental state: Was it possible that she was experiencing postpartum depression?" And that, quote, "no political principle or personal relationship is more sacred than her own ambition."
On the Weekly Standard's blog, Bill Kristol criticizes Purdum's article in a post titled, "Liberal Media and GOP Hacks vs. Palin."
You don't have to be a big Palin fan to recognize the article is full of dubious claims, and is dependent on self-serving stories provided on background by some of the people who ran the McCain campaign into the ground.
It just doesn't stop.
The Left and some McCain hacks are bent on destroying Palin, but she's still standing.
I doubt that Purdum's hit piece will change anyone's opinion of Palin. Her detractors aren't about to let up; and her supporters understand the roots of this sort of criticism. I think this trash actually makes her a more sympathetic figure.

The pattern is inescapable: she takes disagreements personally, and swiftly deals vengeance on enemies, real or perceived.
So, she's just like Hillary, Bill and Obama?
Purdum's "piece" in Vanity (un) Fair is the most perfect recent example of how scared the liberals really are of Sarah Palin. They will stop at nothing to destroy her. Apparently they don't even need proof of their claims, they can say what ever they want and sell it as fact. Pathetic and weak.

Good point, anonymous.
I agree, Ms TRay. The libs are absolutely terrified of Sarah Palin.
