Obama: Lies in his Address

Tonight, Obama will deceive the American people.

Here are the details that every American needs to know about this plan:

First, if you are among the hundreds of millions of Americans who already have health insurance through your job, Medicare, Medicaid, or the VA, nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have.

Let me repeat this: nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have.

What this plan will do is to make the insurance you have work better for you.

That is so sleazy.

This lie makes me sick. It's unconscionable.

His words have to be parsed to find a grain of truth.

Obama is not acknowledging the reality that millions of Americans WILL lost the insurance coverage they have and the doctor they have when their employer signs on to the government-run plan because it's cheaper. Why will it be cheaper? Because care will be rationed. Treatments will be denied.

FACT.

Obama wants a single payer system. He said so.

OBAMA: I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.
