McChrystal, Afghanistan: CONFIDENTIAL

What does "confidential" mean?

Here's a definition, from Merriam-Webster:

4 : containing information whose unauthorized disclosure could be prejudicial to the national interest

I don't think something that's confidential should be splashed by the Washington Post.
The top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan warns in an urgent, confidential assessment of the war that he needs more forces within the next year and bluntly states that without them, the eight-year conflict "will likely result in failure," according to a copy of the 66-page document obtained by The Washington Post.

It drives me nuts when this confidential stuff is leaked.

If the Obama administration wants the information out there, it should have the spine to inform the public.

I thought Obama was about a new kind of politics. I'm seeing the same games.

I'm still waiting for Obama to make good on his promise of transparency.

That was BS.

The Post offers many specifics about the "confidential assessment" of the war in Afghanistan.

It's a joke.
