Obama: Stop Watching TV, Reading News

When Obama was speaking to the Senate Democratic Conference earlier today, he told them to stop watching TV news and stop reading blogs. He said they should get out of the political echo chamber.

Video.

Transcript

OBAMA: Well, I think if everybody here -- excuse, uh, all the uh, members of the uh, the press who are here -- if everybody here turned off your CNN, your FOX, your, you know, just turn off the TV, MSNBC, blogs and just go talk to folks out there instead of being in this echo chamber, uh, where the topic is constantly politics. The topic is politics. It is much more difficult to get a conversation focused on how are we going to help people than a conversation about how is this going to help or hurt somebody politically. And that's part of what the American people are just sick of.

This is the advice that the brilliant Obama offers his Dem cohorts.

Think of how often the Dems criticized and mocked President Bush and Sarah Palin for allegedly NOT watching and reading all things political all the time.

I get what Obama's saying about the echo chamber and political maneuvering coming first. Americans are sick of the posturing and the games. But it's a mistake to slam and demonize the press.

If Americans didn't tune in and listen and read, it would be a lot easier for Obama to enact his radical agenda.

An ignorant populace is exactly what Obama and the Dems want.

It's funny that Obama is encouraging his fellow Dems to talk to the people and listen to them when they have failed miserably at listening to their constituents.

Remember those town hall meetings? Obama and the Dems ignored what the people had to say, dismissing their concerns, preferring to stay firmly entrenched in their own ideological echo chamber.
