Russ Feingold, Ron Johnson: Town Hall Debate

This evening U.S. Senate candidates Russ Feingold and Ron Johnson met at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hall for a town hall debate. It was moderated by Mike Gousha.

I didn't see the beginning, but I did watch the last 40 minutes.

What was with the lighting? Feingold looked like he was wearing a powdered wig. He was much grayer than he appears in his commercials. Of course, that's unimportant, just an observation.

Ron Johnson seemed very poised and at ease and comfortable in the town hall format.

I was surprised that Feingold, a veteran of campaigns and debates, seemed as tense as he did. He couldn't seem to control his snippy, snarky, smirky side.

Johnson was far more effective, presenting a positive vision. Feingold once again seemed angry and was condescending.

As if as an afterthought, Feingold would slap on a forced, very unnatural smile. Considering Feingold is a slick politician, his expressions were often very odd. He'd be so smug and pompous, and then he'd try to be the guy-next-door.

After 18 years, we aren't fooled by that facade. Feingold has a real mean streak, and HE DOESN'T LISTEN TO HIS CONSTITUENTS.

In terms of substance, I didn't hear anything new.

Feingold continued to pretend not to be what he is -- a big government, far-Left liberal.

Johnson was what he is -- a very capable, honest, sincere individual with years of business experience and an understanding of what needs to be done to make our economy grow and thrive.

Wisconsin and the country needs individuals like Ron Johnson in the Senate.

It's time for politicians like Feingold and those of his ilk to be retired, for the good of the country.
