Trying to douse the firestorm created by the revelations of the liberal media conspiring to influence the U.S. Senate race in Alaska is futile.
KTVA, CBS affiliate, claims innocence.
From then Juneau Empire:
An Alaska television station is disputing allegations by Senate candidate Joe Miller's campaign that staff discussed creating or making up stories about Miller.
In a statement, KTVA-TV General Manager Jerry Bever authenticated a recording released by Miller's campaign but said it was taken out of context.
He called it the result of a cell phone not being hung up after a call was made to Miller's spokesman and included staff discussing potential "what if" scenarios surrounding a Miller rally Thursday.
He said the allegation that staff would plan to make up stories "absurd."
A transcript from the campaign indicates one person said "chaos" at the rally - like Miller getting punched - could be alerted via Facebook or Twitter.
Sarah Palin, a Miller supporter, claimed a "media plot" against Miller.
Media Matters and the Washington Post are doing their best to make this go away.
I doubt their best will be good enough to dupe the voters in Alaska.
