ESPN dumped Hank Williams Jr. for remarks he made about Obama.
What price will Susan Sarandon pay for calling Pope Benedict XVI a "Nazi"?
From The Hollywood Reporter, via Big Hollywood:
Susan Sarandon slammed Pope Benedict XVI at The Hamptons Film Festival over the weekend.
Sarandon was interviewed by Bob Balaban at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor on Saturday. She said she sent the pope a copy of the anti death penalty book, Dead Man Walking, authored by Sister Helen Prejean. Sarandon starred in the 1995 big-screen adaptation.
"The last one," she said, "not this Nazi one we have now."
Sarandon calls Pope Benedict a Nazi.
She insults over one billion Roman Catholics.
No problem?

I stopped going to anything that has her dirty fingerprints on it long ago. She is a nasty self righteous has-been who has never had to bear any consequences to her words and actions. Hopefully this time a billion Roman Catholics will let her feel some heat where it hurt$ her most. I guess she went to OWS and nobody recognized her!! LOL!!
This story has received some traction. Even TMZ was mocking her. But Sarandon isn't going to suffer any career consequences at all.
Before she shows solidarity with the OWS crowd, she should give up her wealth. How many millions of dollars does she make per movie? Time to spread the wealth around, put her money where her mouth is.
There should be Occupy Hollywood or Occupy Professional Sports protests. Why should those people be immune?
