Eric Hovde: Negative Ads

Eric Hovde claims that he's staying above the fray in the U.S. Senate Republican primary race.

Hovde claims that he's running a positive campaign.

He insists that he's continuing to stay focused, attacking Democrat Tammy Baldwin while refusing to stoop to slinging mud at his primary opponents.

That's disingenuous. It's dishonest. It's nuts.

Hovde is slinging lots of mud at his primary opponents and not talking about Tammy Baldwin.

In a radio ad currently bombarding the air, Hovde refers to "negative Neumann." He chastises Thompson, charging Thompson with disgracing himself.

It's so pompous. Hovde's lying. The ad is a complete joke.

If Hovde is going to criticize his opponents and resort to childish name-calling, I don't want him to claim in the next breath that he's just focusing on Baldwin.

This sort of thing is exactly what bothers me about Hovde.

He seems to be selling himself as someone he's not.

I don't trust him.
