Hamilton is coming to Milwaukee, but it will be a bit of a wait, maybe two years.
From OnMilwaukee:
"The national tour of the Broadway musical 'Hamilton' will play in Milwaukee as part of the 2019-20 season, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and the Marcus Center as part of the Associated Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee series," reads the press release.Hamilton is an excellent show. I loved it.
To guarantee tickets to "Hamilton," the Marcus Center recommends purchasing a season subscription for the 2018-19 season. Subscribers who renew their subscriptions for the new season will be able to guarantee their seats for "Hamilton" before tickets become available to the general public.
I guess it was a matter of just getting lucky but we managed to get tickets for a performance of the Chicago production only five days into its run. That was in October of 2016, and we didn't have to go through the secondary market. It is possible to get tickets.
There is no way I would get a season subscription for Milwaukee's 2018-19 season solely to secure Hamilton tickets for the following season. It's not necessary.
If you want to see the show, you can get tickets.
By the time it gets to Milwaukee, I would think most people really interested in Hamilton would have seen it. It will have been playing in nearby Chicago for at least THREE YEARS by the time the 2019-20 season rolls around.
