Katherine Archuleta Resigns - Too Late

Shockingly, Katherine Archuleta resigned as the director of the Office of Personnel Management.

This isn't the way the Obama administration rolls. There's no accountability, just a litany of colossal screw-ups without consequences.

From the New York Times:

Katherine Archuleta, the director of the Office of Personnel Management, resigned Friday, one day after it was revealed that sweeping cyberintrusions at the agency resulted in the theft of the personal information of more than 22 million people.

Ms. Archuleta went to the White House on Friday morning to personally inform Mr. Obama of her decision, saying that she felt new leadership was needed at the federal personnel agency to enable it to “move beyond the current challenges,” a White House official said. The president accepted her resignation.

Beth Cobert, the deputy director of management at the Office of Management and Budget, will step in to temporarily replace Ms. Archuleta while a permanent replacement is found.

Ms. Archuleta, who assumed her post in November 2013, had been under pressure to resign since last month, when she announced the first of two separate but related computer intrusions that compromised the personal information of 4.2 million current and former federal workers, including Social Security numbers, addresses, health and financial histories and other private details.

On Thursday, she divulged the breach had also led to the theft of personal data of 21.5 million people who had applied for government background checks, likely affecting anyone subjected to such an investigation since 2000.

On a conference call detailing the scope of the intrusion late Thursday afternoon, Ms. Archuleta, the first Latina director of the agency, insisted she would not step down despite calls from members of Congress in both parties that she do so.
These breaches are inexcusable.

Being the first Latina to serve in her position means nothing. Why even mention it? The Leftists are obsessed with race and ethnicity.

The fact is Archuleta is incompetent. She's been a disaster. She should have been out after the first massive breach.

Have you received a letter from the government saying there was an attempt to steal your personal information?

It's not fun.

I don't trust the government, especially with Obama at the helm. I have good reason.

Francisco Sanchez: 'Illegal 'Immigrant'

Is this guy a "Dreamer"?

No.

He's a killer. This illegal immigrant should have been deported, several times. But San Francisco welcomed him with open arms.

From ABC News:

Kate Steinle, 32, who was walking the pier with her father, was shot dead, authorities said, noting that Sanchez, 45, was arrested an hour later.

Sanchez, who was on probation in Texas at the time of the shooting, served time in federal prison for repeatedly sneaking back into the country, authorities said.

Sanchez told KGO-TV that he kept coming back to the country because he was "looking for jobs in the restaurant or roofing, landscaping, or construction." He said he knew San Francisco was a sanctuary city where he would not be pursued by immigration officials.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had said in a statement that Sanchez was turned over to the San Francisco Police Department this past March on an outstanding drug warrant, and that the department requested that police notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody.

However, the San Francisco Sheriff's Department said that it had no "legal basis" to hold Sanchez based on a federal immigration detainer, according to the Associated Press. A lawyer for the sheriff's department told the AP the city only turns over illegal immigrants if there's an active warrant for their arrest, so on April 15, after the local drug case closed, Sanchez was released.
Murderer Francisco Sanchez chose San Francisco because he knew he would be safe there.

As a result, Kate Steinle, 32, is dead.

She was walking the pier with her dad and now she's dead.

What about her dreams?

Why doesn't Obama make a statement about Kate's killing?

Don't white lives matter?

This scum Sanchez is the sort of "immigrant" that Donald Trump and others believe have no place in our country, yet calling out our broken policies is deemed an unpardonable sin.

It's sick.

In effect, Macy's and Trump's other critics are supporting the killer Sanchez.

Why is it that Dylann Roof, one killer, can provide ample cause to transform The Dukes of Hazzard into unwatchable fare and any display of the Confederate flag into an intolerable act?

Why isn't Francisco Sanchez the face of a national movement for the immediate and complete banning of illegal immigrants?

Absolutely sick.

God be with Kate Steinle's family and friends.

Louis Farrakhan: 'Put the American Flag Down'

Ian Hanchett, Breitbart, shares Louis Farrakhan's comments about the Confederate flag controversy and his hate for "white folks" and the police.

Louis Farrakhan stated “We need to put the American flag down. Because we’ve caught as much hell under that as the Confederate flag” in remarks before the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, DC on Wednesday first reported by DC’s WMAL.

Farrakhan said, “White folks march with you because they don’t want you upsetting the city, they don’t give a damn about them nine.”

He added that when the police took suspected shooter Dylann Roof to Burger King they were saying “You did a good job. Kill all them [bleep.]”

Later, he declared, “I don’t know what the hell the fight is about over the Confederate flag. We need to put the American flag down. Because we’ve caught as much hell under that as the Confederate flag,” comments that were meant with cheers and applause. He added, “Who are we fighting today? It’s the people that carry the American flag.”
Democrats, including Obama, need to condemn their friend Farrakhan's repulsive remarks, assuming they believe his words are despicable.

The rhetoric is out of control. It's inexcusable.

Farrakhan's statement that police commended Dylann Roof for killing those nine innocent people in church is beyond disgusting.

We need leaders to step up and speak some sense, quieting the insane, hateful voices.

Where's Obama?

Occupied with more pressing business like playing golf or schmoozing at fundraisers or doing interviews with media giants like Marc Maron?

It seems like Roof and Farrakhan have a similar goal. They both want to incite a race war.

Of course, Farrakhan didn't gun down nine people, but his words are so incendiary that he could be encouraging a nutjob to lash out violently at whites and police officers and anyone displaying the American flag, symbol of oppression.

Why are so many people out there trying to create racial conflict?

Something to keep in mind: Obama is president. He really needs to serve as a uniter. If he wanted to, he could.

A positive message is in order.

Confederate Flag Ban Hypocrisy

The holier-than-thou crap coming from some of the self-righteous retailers vowing to halt sales of products with the Confederate flag is so hypocritical.

I'm not defending the merchandise.

My ancestors fought in the Civil War, on the Union side.

Does that give me some special moral authority to speak on the topic? Should it? I don't think it should. Other than members of my family tree, I don't have any connection with what happened more than 150 years ago, generations before I was born.

Anyway, I don't own any Confederate flag stuff and I don't want any, but this ban bothers me.

From the New York Times:

Entering a debate that has played out for years mostly in the political realm, many of the nation’s largest retailers abruptly decided this week to stop selling merchandise tied to the Confederate battle flag.

One by one, beginning with Walmart on Monday night, companies including Sears/Kmart, eBay, Amazon, Etsy and Google Shopping disavowed, sometimes in strong moral terms, merchandise that has been sold quietly for decades.

“We have decided to prohibit Confederate flags and many items containing this image because we believe it has become a contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism,” eBay said in a statement, echoing the sentiments of others in the aftermath of the fatal shooting last week of nine black parishioners in a South Carolina church and the arrest of a white suspect.

The killings have renewed a focus on the Confederate flag, which had been displayed in a photograph of the accused gunman.
Anyone thinking banning the Confederate flag would have prevented Dylann Roof from committing his evil deeds is nuts.

Nevertheless, I guess it's time to ban all episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard and all merchandise.

Oh my gosh, a Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox and thermos is still available on eBay!

There are a lot available!

Obviously, that statement from eBay didn't successfully purge the site of all products with the Confederate flag.

Much more policing needs to be done.

As Jim Norton points out, only certain items are deemed offensive enough to be banned while other equally offensive stuff gets a pass.

That's not right.

Let's ban ALL offensive stuff.

That's a tall order, but it needs to be done.

Oh, good Lord! Get rid of that statue of Lenin! That has no place in the United States of America!

Remember when Obama had a Mao ornament on one of the Christmas trees in the White House?

How did that happen? Why was that allowed? Mao, killer of millions.

No, we can't have that.

If we're going to ban the Confederate flag, certainly the atrocities committed by Lenin and Mao should require them to be relegated to the banned stuff pile. All the Nazi stuff on Amazon and eBay has to go, too. Nothing offensive should be sold or bought or manufactured.

It's lucky we all share the same definition of what's offensive, right?

Of course, Obama has often pointed out that atrocities have been committed by Americans, under the American flag.

That's a problem. What will we do about that?

Once this banning of offensive symbols and images gets going, it's really going to snowball. Getting rid of the Confederate flag is just a drop in the bucket. It's just the beginning, if we're actuallty planning on being consistent and not just cherry picking.

We're experiencing a Cultural Revolution of our own.

Mao would be proud.

Charleston Church Massacre

From the New York Times:

The mass murder of nine people who gathered Wednesday night for Bible study at a landmark black church has shaken a city whose history from slavery to the Civil War to the present is inseparable from the nation’s anguished struggle with race.

Fourteen hours after the massacre at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, in which the Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney, the church pastor and a prominent state senator, was among the dead, the police in Shelby, N.C., acting on a tip from a motorist, on Thursday arrested Dylann Storm Roof, a 21-year-old white man with an unsettled personal life and a recent history of anti-black views.

The killings, with victims ranging in age from 26 to 87, left people stunned and grieving. Witnesses said Mr. Roof sat with church members for an hour and then started venting against African-Americans and opened fire on the group.
This is absolutely horrific.

I won't mention the mass murderer's name. He wanted attention and he's getting it. The easiest way to get famous is to kill people. That just encourages others to commit evil acts. We have to stop that cycle.

Then, we have Obama. He says we have to talk about guns.

A gun is an inanimate object. It can't do anything. The gun isn't the problem. The killer is.

Because of what this evil person did in Charleston, we have to revisit the Civil War and act as if such shootings are commonplace in our alleged deeply racist country.

Politicizing the deaths of the victims is wrong. Using their tragic demise to advance a political agenda and score political points is sick.

The fact is no decent person in the country supports what the killer did in that church. Decent people are grieving.

Decent people don't think and act like the killer. He's an aberration, not the norm.

Decent people are praying for those suffering in Charleston, not playing politics.
