Democratic State Senator Lena Taylor was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident in a Milwaukee bank Friday afternoon in which she used racist language against an African-American teller, multiple sources told News/Talk 1130 WISN.

Taylor, who is also African-American, called the teller a "house n****r" after that teller would not cash for Taylor an $831 check for which there were insufficient funds.

Milwaukee Police officers, who were coincidentally in the Wells Fargo Bank at 735 W. Wisconsin Ave. on an unrelated call, overheard Taylor berating the teller and intervened. A shift lieutenant arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and, after viewing the bank's security camera footage, issued Taylor a municipal citation for disorderly conduct.

If a Republican elected official were involved in this sort of thing, this would be huge, huge news.

It is certainly newsworthy when a DEMOCRAT state senator is cited for disorderly conduct.

It is certainly newsworthy when a DEMOCRAT state senator uses racist language.

I never watch MSNBC, so I don't find out about stuff like this until I see it via an outlet like NewsBusters.

The "MSNBC 'Conservative'" is, of course, Charlie Sykes.

He credits himself for creating Sheriff David Clarke. Sykes refers to Clarke as "my Frankenstein monster."

Good grief. Sykes didn't create Clarke. Sykes talks like he was the most powerful person in Milwaukee media, pulling all the strings and getting voters to do his will. With all due respect, that's flat-out nuts.

We go through the MSNBC looking glass completely when Democrat Wisconsin state senator Leftist Lena Taylor joins Sykes as an ally.

On Sunday's AM Joy, it was another case of MSNBC including an alleged conservative guest for the purpose of having him bolster the views of the liberal host rather than provide a contrarian point of view. MSNBC contributor and right-leaning talk radio host Charlie Sykes joined in host Joy Reid's derision of Sheriff David Clarke as he complained that the Milwaukee County sheriff has been "AWOL" and has used his uniform as a "prop" on Fox News.

The MSNBC contributor then ended up deriding him as "my Frankenstein monster" who has "beclowned himself" as he referred back to supporting the Milwaukee County sheriff in the past.
After recalling that the right-leaning Democratic sheriff recently attracted a primary opponent for next year's election, host Reid brought aboard Sykes and Wisconsin Democratic State Senator Lena Taylor. After relating to viewers that there has been a movement to push Sheriff Clarke to run for the U.S. Senate, she turned to Sykes and snarked: "Do you see in Sheriff Clarke someone who still wants to be sheriff and, you know. let more people die in his jail?"

Laughter could be heard in the background, and Sykes started to chuckle as he responded:

No, I -- it's a -- (pauses to chuckle) -- it's an interesting question because I'm sure they would like to keep wearing that uniform as a prop when he goes on Fox News. Which is about the only time that we ever see him around here. I mean he is awol. He's basically bailed on Milwaukee.

So I actually don't see him running for reelection. I think that he thinks that he is bigger than the sheriff's job and he's really transformed himself into this mini Trump wannabe. And that's his career trajectory.

Moments later, Reid referred to Sykes's conservative talk radio background as she asked:

But you just hinted at some of your change of heart, that you think that he's been awol. Would Republicans get behind him if he runs against Tammy Baldwin for the United States Senate?

After predicting a crowded primary for U.S. Senate, Sykes further piled on the Milwaukee County sheriff as he added:

I do think that Sheriff Clarke in the last year has really sort of "beclowned" himself, and I refer to him as kind of "my Frankenstein monster." There was a time when Sheriff Clarke had some substantive things to say, but clearly the ego and the big hat, I think, have gotten the best of him. But I don't see that as a plausible path for him.

Reid referring to Sykes' "change of heart" is hilarious.

Yes, we all know about that profound "change of heart."

Because I don't watch MSNBC, I don't deal with that 180 Reid speaks of as a "change of heart."

I assume most loyal listeners of Sykes' old radio program aren't aware of the post-620 WTMJ Sykes, and just how radically his heart has apparently changed.

Sykes spent years trashing MSNBC and its propaganda. I doubt Sykes' audience made the leap to MSNBC with him. I doubt the former audience has adopted the Leftist mindset like him.

There is "beclowning" occurring. That much is certain. However, David Clarke hasn't beclowned himself. Sykes has.

If Clarke were the Republican candidate challenging extremist Leftist Tammy Baldwin, Wisconsin Republicans would support him, though I think it's unlikely he will be Baldwin's opponent.

Someone needs to remind Sykes that Wisconsin went Republican for the first time since Ronald Reagan. Wisconsinites preferred Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton. We also reelected Republican Ron Johnson, handing Russ Feingold another defeat. Those same people would likely get behind Clarke to oust Baldwin.

Sykes needs to stop viewing reality through the Leftist lens.

The whole "my Frankenstein monster" thing smacks of egomania on the part of Sykes.

If Wisconsinites viewed Sykes as our leader, Trump would not have carried the state.

Sykes said, "There was a time when Sheriff Clarke had some substantive things to say, but clearly the ego and the big hat, I think, have gotten the best of him."

It pains me to say that "clearly the ego" has gotten the best of Sykes.

This is so inconsistent with his years and years of conservative talk.

The MSNBC host ended the segment by jokingly commenting that she had brought her two guests together because seeing them agree would be "unexpected," even though there's actually nothing "unexpected" about seeing a "conservative" and a liberal agree on MSNBC. Reid: "We did this segment specifically to get State Senate Lena Turner [sic] and Charlie Sykes to agree on TV because no one would be expecting that. So we do the unexpected here on AM Joy."

Oh, my God.

Wisconsin Early Voting Hours Should Be Uniform

This legislation is long overdue in Wisconsin.

If you don't live in Milwaukee or Madison, your opportunity to vote early is dramatically reduced.

That's wrong.

Early voting hours should be standard throughout the state. This really is a no-brainer. Of course, voting hours should be uniform.

People living in smaller communities and rural areas should not be penalized when it comes to voting opportunities. At present, they are.

Naturally, the Leftists are whining that Republicans are trying to disenfranchise minorities.

What a crock!

Read how the issue is presented in the Washington Post: "Wisconsin moves closer to cuts in early voting hours."

The Wisconsin state Senate on Tuesday will take up a measure to cut early voting hours during weekend days, a move Democrats say will make it harder for urban voters to cast ballots.

The bill would open early voting sites at county clerks’ offices on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Clerks’ offices would be prohibited from remaining open later at night or on weekends, when party activists have been most successful at driving voters to the polls.

Republican backers of the proposed legislation say standardizing early voting hours statewide would give equal access to voters in both urban areas and in more sparsely populated rural counties, where clerks sometimes don’t have the resources to keep their offices open late.

The headline stresses that "urban voters" will see a cut in their early voting hours.

Instead, the headline should read, "Wisconsin moves closer to equalizing early voting hours for all."

That's what is really happening.

Voters must have equal access when it comes to casting ballots. At present. there is not equal access. That's unacceptable.

“It is important that we do something toward establishing uniformity for early voting around the state,” state Sen. Glenn Grothman (R), the bill’s lead sponsor, told the MacIver News Service, a conservative-leaning think tank.

Democrats, though, say the limited hours mean voters who work during the week would be disenfranchised.

“I am not comfortable with a standard that treats a community that has 50 people or 500 people the same as Milwaukee that has more than half a million people,” state Sen. Lena Taylor (D) told MacIver.

What?

We should all be treated equally, Lena.

People in small communities and rural areas are being disenfranchised. It's so clear. They work during the week, too. But, they don't have extended hours to vote.

That's flat-out unjust.

This legislation is not an effort to discourage voting. It's an effort to grant everyone equal access.

That's what this is about.

I don't care if early voting hours are extended or cut, but they must be the same for all voters in the state.

Lena Taylor Dodges Questions, Rob Koebel

DEMOCRAT State Senator Lena Taylor believes she doesn't owe anyone an explanation. When confronted with legitimate questions about her property and the issue of people using that address to vote illegally, she throws a fit.

TMJ4's Rob Koebel was covering the story and Taylor blew a gasket, accusing him of harassing her.

Clearly, Taylor didn't want to answer any questions. She preferred to claim media harassment.

That's ridiculous.

I suppose Taylor hopes the matter will be dropped. That, too, is ridiculous. This story isn't going away.

Media Trackers Communications Director Brian Sikma said, “Senator Taylor has decided to attack the media and dodge the issue rather than provide transparent answers to serious allegations. After three interviews, one press release, and one bizarre confrontation with a television reporter, Senator Taylor has spun the narrative that she and her mother are victims and the public is not entitled to ask questions about why 36 voters are registered at her property, why 23 voted on April 5, 2011 when the property is allegedly zoned for 18, and why her mother corroborated for a felon voter." Sikma concluded saying, "Senator Taylor needs to come forward and in the public interest explain the details about these facts."

Taylor needs to quit dancing around the issue and provide some straightforward answers.

Just explain why an investigation into her property "revealed 36 active voter registrations, 23 April 5 voters, a felon voter, and potential zoning violations."

It appears that's exactly what she's avoiding.

Most elected officials discovered to have a role potentially in illegal activity usually don't want to talk about it.

Lena Taylor: No Answers

The mainstream media have propped up Lena Taylor, providing a forum for her to do damage control regarding the information brought to light by Media Trackers.

Taylor talked but she didn't give any answers.

Here's a press release from Taylor:

"There has not been any accessory to voter fraud committed as stated in these accusations. More important, one would assume that such outlets would spend more time telling the truth, ensuring they knew the law and not make wild accusations of voter fraud, based on overreaching logic, and other journalists would not be so willing to promote such baseless issues."

Taylor issues another denial and lashes out at her critics.

What she doesn't do is provide facts to refute the criticism.

Milwaukee – On Monday November 21, Media Trackers released the results of a comprehensive investigation into voting irregularities at a property owned by Senator Lena C. Taylor (D-Milwaukee). The report found 23 individuals who voted from Taylor’s property in the April 5, 2011 spring election while a total of 36 individuals maintain active voter registrations at 1018 N. 35th St. At least one voter was an ineligible felon, and others appear to have used other addresses, including one in Chicago, as their legal residence, raising questions about the legality of their votes.

In response to Sen. Lena Taylor’s evasive answers to questions asked by the media, Brian Sikma, communications director for Media Trackers, released the following statement:

“Senator Taylor is evading the facts and refusing to provide factual information that would rebut the findings of our study. She repeatedly says that the charges are baseless, but she has yet to muster a single example of where the information we uncovered is incorrect.

“Not once has Senator Taylor offered a factual reason for why 36 voters should be allowed to register to vote from the home that she owns immediately behind her law office.

“Not once has Senator Taylor clarified why it is acceptable that 23 people voted from that address in the April 5th election when that property is zoned, according to media reporters and the City of Milwaukee, for no more than 18 individuals.

“Not once has Senator Taylor explained why an ineligible felon was allowed to vote using her home as a residence.

“Not once has Senator Taylor said why it is acceptable for individuals who no longer live at her home at 1018 N. 35th Street to continue to use that address as their voting residence.

“Not once has Senator Taylor or her mother explained why some of the voter registration forms corroborated by Lena J. Taylor incorrectly list Lena J. Taylor as the owner of Sen. Lena C. Taylor’s property.

“Senator Taylor needs to respond to the facts instead of hiding behind generalized statements. The integrity of the election process is fundamental to the success of a democracy and what has taken place here with Senator Taylor’s involvement undermines the public’s confidence in our state’s elections. Senator Taylor has said she believes that those who “assault the values and history” of our state should be held accountable. That is what Media Trackers is doing.”

Budget Hearing: SHAME, SHAME, SHAME

What a stunning turn of events!

People/protesters were upset that they ALL couldn't speak at the budget hearing held at State Fair Park yesterday.

They started chanting, "SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!"

Where have I heard that before?

For one, I heard the Democrats in the Wisconsin State Assembly scream it.

It was the third of four hearings around the state held by the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee on Walker's proposed budget. And like earlier hearings in Stevens Point and Superior, the turnout was in the hundreds, rather than the thousands that some expected.

Only hundreds, not thousands?

Is the movement losing steam?

In all, about 270 speakers signed up before registrations to speak were cut off about 12:30 p.m., according to Ted Blazel, Wisconsin Senate sergeant of arms.

Though committee co-chairs Rep. Robin Vos (R-Burlington) and Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) had said they planned to end the meeting by 6 p.m. - a plan that drew criticism from Democrats - testimony was allowed into the early evening, and everyone who signed up to speak had done so by 6:30.

A crowd of hundreds of people who had rallied outside the expo center came in late demanding to speak, but they had not registered by the noontime cutoff, and Vos adjourned the meeting after hearing from all of those who registered. As he and Republican legislators left the room, there were shouts of "let us speak" and "shame."

Vos said he had to end the meeting because he was scheduled to attend a Wisconsin Conservation Congress meeting in his district.

No hearing would have been long enough to satisfy the Democrats and their union allies.

It was guaranteed that they would complain about not being heard.

This "SHAME, SHAME, SHAME" chant is getting to be a joke.

Their rallying cry is akin to a tantrum that's lost its effectiveness, like when the parent simply ignores the screaming child and he finally quiets down.

Acting with some decorum would be a smarter move. Calm and controlled is better than crazed.

As Rep. Robin Vos said, "While many people wanted to speak, and we gave an opportunity to several hundred, many more are going to be able to testify through written communication or electronic."

He's absolutely right.

Time is finite. It's unreasonable to expect public forums to go on indefinitely. Everyone who wants to speak can't always be accommodated. That's not trampling on democracy. It's what we call the earthly limits of time.

Citizens do have other ways of communicating their concerns to elected officials.

Back when Russ Feingold held elected office, he didn't allow his listening sessions to go on forever. The former senator had a strict policy - "up to an hour." Read the rules here. Dems didn't complain then. The union thugs didn't erupt.

Of course, Democrats Chris Larson and Lena Taylor had their lines rehearsed. Whenever the hearing ended, they would object. The chants would begin. The fists would be raised.

Larson and Taylor would ratchet up the rhetoric once again.

Pictures of people who showed up but not allowed to testify are being put up on empty chairs.

Like that bit of theatrics was just spontaneous. Sure.

Lena Taylor: Rape and Budget Repair Bill

On Friday night, AWOL Democrat Lena Taylor and her AWOL Senate colleague Spencer Coggs joined Jesse Jackson at a service/political rally at St. Matthew Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Prior to the church service/political rally, Jackson, Taylor, and Coggs had a press conference.

Discussing the passage of the budget repair bill, Lena Taylor made a terribly inappropriate, outrageous comment.

Taylor, who fled the state with her fellow cowardly Democrat senators and attempted to bring our state government to a halt, likened the bill to a sexual assault.

Although FOX 6 hasn't posted the video of its report on its website, I do give the station credit for airing Taylor's reprehensible remarks.

TMJ4 had footage of the rally and press conference with Jackson, Taylor, and Coggs, but it didn't report Taylor's extremely offensive comments.

How convenient to leave that out of its coverage! Forget the newsworthy stuff. Instead, protect and defend. Solidarity!

There's nothing at all in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
about what Taylor said regarding the budget repair bill and rape.

As it aired on FOX 6:

LENA TAYLOR: What happened, the way that they did it, was frankly, in my opinon, symbolic of a rape.

That's disgusting.

It minimizes the trauma and the powerlessness experienced by a rape victim.

Taylor and her colleagues weren't violated. They were derelict in their duty. They ran away.

Of course, no Democrats were present when the bill passed. Why? THEY CHOSE TO FLEE THE STATE FOR WEEKS! The Governor's administration and Republican leaders were negotiating with the Dems but they rejected offers. Yet because Republicans went ahead and fulfilled their roles as legislators, Taylor is crying RAPE.

It's inexcusable for media outlets to be editing Taylor's comments to help her appear more reasonable and spare her controversy.

If a Republican had said the passage of a bill was akin to rape, the media would be all over the inappropriateness of the remark and demanding an apology.

Jesse Jackson was sitting right next to Taylor when she made the rape comment. It didn't seem to bother him at all.

Really sick.
